Been looking for a solid option for a phone holder on my new F150 and found this guy on Etsy who made this for me, shipping was quick and the thing fits like a glove. I can rotate it so it’s the right angle while I’m driving and it charges my phone at the same time. Sweet option.

Is the magnet strong enough to keep the phone in place even if there’s a thin cover on the phone?

This style always makes me nervous looking at it... Don't accidently push the shifter fold button. I imagine that would be an expensive mistake.

I have had this one for a couple years and its really nice. Sometimes I pine for a fixed dash mounted style QI2 charger but then realize I don't NEED another screen in easy view. But I sure do WANT it.

It really broke the shifter? Was the fold button accidentally pressed? Because ya that is a very real likelihood here with kids/wife touching stuff

Not folded. I just grabbed the shifter full fist and put it into the park, and there was so little clearance that my fingers pinched in between the shifter and the phone; it was enough force to damage the sensor in the shifter that detects what gear it is in. And once it can't detect what gear it is in, it won't shift anymore.

The one from Etsy might have more clearance, but hitting the fold button would definitely cause a problem. When I made my 3D mounted holder, I had it extend out and cover the button to fold it down. Mine was just a table and I put one of the desktop style magsafe chargers on it, like this:

This style is cool. I also am interested in the ones that go into the top corner of the vent, but still struggle with the question if I NEED access to the phone when we have carplay.

I may be a little weird, but I still like using Google maps on my phone and this spot is perfect for me.
