Hey everyone.

I have a buddy who has a 24 F150. His Nav and GPS hasn't been working fine. The other day he started getting the GPS symbol with a line through it on his Nav screen. He has no comms with Ford.

I have an F150 and have done a lot with forscan and FDRS.

When I looked at it today with forscan, it has a couple of DTCs. One for the GWM that said it lost comm with the TCU. No surprise. The second was the TCU. It showed that it was not programmed. That is unusual since it was working fine. I'm thinking that it might have just gone bad, or the programming for messed up somehow. I looked at it with FDRS and there are no updates for those modules. I also reset both of those and the APIM in Forscan and no change.

Any ideas? I'm planning on doing a PMI to the TCU on Tuesday.

Thoughts???

And thanks!

I just got a tcu update the other day via ota. I wonder if it’s related? Like maybe his didn’t dl correctly or was corrupt?

Just spitballing as I have nothing else to offer. Good luck!

Thanks. It could be. That would explain why it shows as not programmed. I'm gonna try the PMI. We'll see......

My TCU (among other modules) dumped when I had the battery low issue (even after charging the bad battery). Once the new battery was installed it fixed itself..??‍♂

I think some fellas have had luck with bringing the TCU back to life by killing power to it overnight, and then plugging it back in.
Or at least that's what I recall a year or so ago with some 2021/2022 year models?

Not sure overnight was required, but it's what I remember. (caution..... senior citizen memory)

My ‘24 raptor is also having issues with the TCU - it is intermittently stopping and then coming back, with increasing frequency and duration while driving.
Talked to the dealer where they have a request to ford to replace it and they’re waiting for engineering’s response. My service guy did tell me that they are having to replace a decent amount in ‘24s but their work trucks/lesser models.
If I had to guess there was a bad batch of TCUs for a certain factory but that’s just speculation.

I used FDRS and have seen a handful of DTCs but no updates available.

not a lot of actionable info here but wanted to share
