Tailgate lock

I recently noticed my tailgate isn't locking or unlocking when I lock the truck. Where does one look in forscan to make sure I didn't shut it off or something by accident. I just recently added rear blis so maybe I did something g when trying g to figure that all out. Any help would be appreciated

Firstly, if you didn't remove/install the tailgate or disconnect it, then you shouldn't need to mechanically adjust anything. In FORScan, have you checked for DTCs? If all that is good, we can look at the configuration of the relevant modules, but start there.

I changed the tail light harness when I added the blis. I never paid attention if it did it after that or not. I just noticed today as I thought it was odd it opened when truck was locked. The new harness is for trucks with led and blis tail lights.

Did you use the correct harness? Most of the BLIS trucks have electronic tailgates without locks -- its opening is completely electronic. Haven't checked the schematics to see how the 3 variations of the tailgate control actually route via harness.

as @HammaMan says, this is most likely your issue.

My original harness is ML3T 13A409-AGJ and new harness is ML3T 13A409-FAJ

I don't know the operation of your lock circuit. I'd have to locate the wiring diagram previously referred to. In the absence of other help, that will take me some time, I'll get back to you when I can.

I did the same thing, I had to remove the wires from my old harness and added them to my new harness, same thing with the Camera, I had to repin it as well based on my old configuration.

On my 2021 I don't think the tailgate locks with the doors. There is really no need to. The tailgate won't open unless the key fob is in my pocket or probably in the pickup.

Yeah that seems to be the route I'm currently going to do. I started looking into my old harness and comparing pins with new one. In the pic left one is new and right is what was in the truck. Just not real sure what pins are what. There is only one pin missing on the new one compared to old and two new ones on the new one vs old. I'm assuming that that would be the one needed to add. That pin is bundled with 2 other wires on the original. So now the choice is do I just add the wire or just convert it over to the electronic handle since I want to add the light any way. I do have the switch added inside already, when I added the mirrors they have spotlights so I bought the panel with the switches in it.

Little update, I depinned the 2 wires I needed out of the old harness and added to the new one and bingo all is good again. I taped up the 2 wires I needed to take out of the plug that goes to the tailgate as I may need them at somepoint for the electronic handle. Now I need to find the correct tailgate harness so I can do the handle with the light.
