Mine auto connects every time not sure why site asking for that. Maybe it’s a setting in your phone? Try deleting your phone and trying it again

Try reinstalling your phone. Delete the truck connection off your phone and reinstall per owners manual.

Jeff, this is the wi-fi network that is part of how you can use CarPlay or android auto apps on SYNC. Go into Settings > Connectivity > Wireless App Projection and you will see the Proj network. You can tap "show password" to see it. As to why it's asking for a password? Something isn't right in SYNC would be my guess. The things I would try are:
1: the phone suggestions above
2: reboot SYNC (hold down audio power and track forward buttons until the SYNC screen goes black)
3: Perform a "reset password" on the wireless app projection screen
4: reset SYNC from the settings > General (I think).

SYNC is meant to populate its own password for the Proj network, I believe. Because the phone and SYNC use Bluetooth for the initial connection to CarPlay or android auto, also make sure Bluetooth is on and functioning. Re-adding your phone after deleting it from SYNC and deleting the truck from the phone will prove that Bluetooth connectivity works.

So related to this, the other day sync stopped allowing me to connect via AirPlay wirelessly. Now the switch for wireless app projection is stuck in the off position. The power/frwd reset does nothing. Thoughts?

That was excellent. Not only did I get it working but now I understand how the internal network operates. Thanks

When mine does this I just delete the phone from the truck and the truck from Carplay and set it all back up. I tried pulling the PW from the wireless projection screen like @SilverPigeon showed but my iPhone will refuse to connect. Resetting the Carplay connection always fixes it and only takes a couple minutes.

So deleted phone and “forgot” the truck from AirPlay. No Joy. So I did a master reset and that did the trick for the wireless app projection not working.
