There was an update that came out near the end of February 2023 that caused the map orientation to default to 3D. This is on my 2022 F150 King Ranch. I can set it to 2D north up, which is my preference, but the next time I start up, it has defaulted back to 3D. It's a minor irritation but I have called and complained to Ford OTA and they have no available fix. Initially, they said there was an issue with update 3.5.4 not completing and told me to take it to the dealership to force that update to complete. I did that, but unfortunately it did not work. I am wondering if anyone else is having that same issue.

just a thought here. I noticed after setting up my profile to the key and then if I change some settings and dont clear and re-set my profile it was going back to the old settings. for example if you pick a different seat position setting all new defaults come with it.
or if you unlock using the second key whatever settings are saved to that key default. not just seat position.

just spit ballin' here, but maybe try setting the nav to 2D and then re load your key profile.

Hey all,
Just had 4.2.2 update last night on my 2022 F150 Limited. Seems to have fixed the "north up" issue and the miles issue when navigating. Have tried it 3 x since update yesterday , from off as I ran around doing errands today.

My master units of measure are "km/liters" and when navigating to a destination, the distance to the destination was displaying miles in Sync. I had to go to "general" settings then switch to miles then back to km for the navigation to stay in kilometers. If I shut the truck off it would reset back to miles, even though my main cluster showed km and km/h.

With the 2d north up, it would reset to 3d track up each time I shut the truck off. This too seemed to be fixed in the 3 x I used the truck today with a full off/park cycle each time.

Curious if anyone else has found the 4.2.2 update to fix this issue too.

It appears that update fixed it for me, too. I'll keep testing.

P.S. I'm still pissed the previous larger update now gives me a blue screen for my in-bed camera. Gotta love their software rollouts.

Mine just updated to 4.2.1 and it didn't fix the map orientation issue. Hopefully I get the 4.2.2 update soon.

Just an update....

Its now Wednesday, and map orientation and navigation distances are still in km.

Still going strong 4 days, used the truck each day at least 1 or 2 times with complete on/off cycles

I just finished all of the latest APIM updates and it now remembers the last map orientation. It still won’t maintain zoom (which is a big deal to me) but at least I don’t have to change orientation every time I drive

I am on version 23031 rev 713

Yay!!! I finally got the 4.2.2 update Tuesday night the 25th and it fixed the map orientation issue. Now, if they would work on how the map looks. It's very dinky, very little color or contrast and multi-lane highways and main arteries are just thin lines. What could be a very nice map is just very unappealing.
