I am hearing a strange moan like sound, almost at a whisper level when I accelerate through about 45mph. Not dependent on which gear. Other than thinking that I have a ghost, I was wondering if I am hearing the front air dam deploy. Anyone hear anything like this? Perhaps an actuator? TIA

Is there any consistency to the RPM range? On my 2.7, I get a not speed dependent sort of faint, warbling throaty rumble at 1300rpm ONLY when the truck is in the three overdrive gears and I’m at low throttle settings just above idle, so like cruising modestly uphill at 45-50. It feels almost like the transmission is being overly optimistic and is mildly lugging the engine. It presents sort of as a throaty warble and a very slight pedal and steering wheel vibration that can be gotten rid of by more or less throttle, forcing a downshift, or just locking out the offending overdrive gears. It’s only really been noticeable with extended rural cruising.

There does seem to be some consistency in speed but I'll need to keep track of RPMs, etc. I don't experience any of the other stuff you mention. I am going to try to record it and perhaps enhance the audio. It is really soft which is why I think it is something under the hood or underbody.
