ts a good video thanks fo
absolutely! It def works with the older one. I think it took a total of 20 minutes for install and have had no issues in a year. I wasn't about to pay 600 for a newer version of something I already had.

I made it work with my 2016 extender on a 2023. I had to buy something at the hardware store to make it work, but I can't remember what. I'll try to recall and comment back. It was less than $10 I think.
If you figure it out let me know so if id happen to need it I know what to get. Thanks

Yeah thats crazy the price they want. I'll get knock off from amazon especially what I'm wanting it for.

yeah but thats expensive too

OP, first and foremost, i have a 2022. My bed extender is the OEM ford one from a 2015-2020 F150.
It bolted up and works 100% haha
THE ONLY part that doesnt line up is the little drop pin lock thing which is only when the tail gate is down and you're using the extender. the tail gate has a small circle you're supposed to drill out and it doesnt line up with the 15-20
heres the kicker, IVE NEVER USED THAT PIN LOCK THING EVER!
The extender is heavy enough it doesnt bounce when ive used it. also, it folds and stores and flips to hold groceries.

also, try marketplace or craigslist. got mine for $50 :)
Ahh! I didn't even realize that difference... because I never used it either haha

I'll probably never use it with tailgate down but if I do I wouldn't need the lock pin. Thanks for letting me know it'll work and I'll have to check those put see if i can save some money.
i mean i've NEVER used it haha
it will 100% work. also, dont sleep on a slightly used one either. mine had absolutely nothing wrong minus it was dirty which was an easy fix and it had one small scuff.

Yeah it doesn't have to be perfect. It'll be under my bed cover and only used to keep groceries from sliding forward. I would make one like with the mount put above but want the stowable so it's out the way when I need bed and wife doesn't Have to remember to put back in

@Lricaud81, others have given you viable options. The Amazon options look functionally identical to my OEM extender. A divider will give you far more room, but the extender gives more functionality.

If you go with the extender, check the mounting hole on each side of the bed. If like mine the hole is larger than the pivot bolt. The soft metal the pivot bolt self threads into isn't there. My Ford kit came with a large fender washer/nut that goes on the backside. You'll need to remove the taillight to put a wrench on this. Easy to do. I say this because before install this nut I faced it with double sided mounting tape to stick it to the truck. This pivot bolt doesn't need to be torqued tightly. Doing this allows you to remove the bolt without the nut falling down. No need to remove the taillight to remove or install the extender.

If groceries is the concern I'd use a divider instead. It gives you a lot more 'trunk' space, nor does it cover up the corner bed lights.

Regardless of which way you go, consider also using collapsible milk crates to hold your groceries. Like these. My grocery shopping strategy is to scan as I shop. I pick the item, scan it, put it in the cart. The next time I touch the item is at my truck when I place it in a milk crate. I don't bag in the store.

You could go without an extender or divider and use only the crates. Should they slide forward, a simple stick with a hook will reach and snag them easily.

I have both the extender and divider. Neither is installed in the truck. For grocery shopping I find the crates work fine on their own. The accessories mostly are just in my way most of the time. I install them only when I know I'll need one of them.

My uncle installed his out of his 2016 F150 into his 2021 F150. Fit fine
Thanks for the info! I'm planning to do the same thing on my 24 if it ever gets delivered.

I'd thought about the divider but doesn't it need the track .. Can't think of technical term for it right now. Lol

The Ford divider requires boxlink brackets. The part that bolts to the truck. These are available inexpensively on Amazon.

Bought an OEM extender for my 2011 off eBay. Traded that truck in for my '18. Same thing, found one on eBay. When I got it, was pretty upset, it was the same one I left on my '11. Suffice to say when I traded in the '18, made sure I took it off and installed on my '21. Major con: the bolts are self tapping and wore out the threaded holes on this truck. Not gonna get larger bolts just to have the threads stretch again.
