Stall mats instead of Ford rubber mats

My new F150 came with a spray in bed liner. Do you still use a mat on top of it? And instead of buying the $180 Ford mat has anyone used the tractor supply horse stall mats? I use them extensively at my gym and love them. Wondering if they would fit this use case. And if you have them they are 4x6 and therefore if you cover the full 6 feet and cut off 1/2 inch for a 5.5 truck bed, do they cover wall to wall or there is an inch or so gap on both sides? And did you cut the section to go around the wheel bumps?

If you turn them on the 6 feet side they will go end to end but then you have to put two mats. However I am also being told it is not necessary to have mat if you have a sprayed in liner.

I have the spray in bed liner and don’t use a pad. Guess it all depends on what you are looking for. Yes things slide with out a pad. The liner is more for bed protection. I also have a bed extender that’s folded into bed so everything stays at tailgate.

Sliding I can control with 2x10s inserted into the channels. If I don't need to control sliding is there a reason to get a mat when I have a liner? This is so as not to scratch the liner.

Personal preference. A good bed liner should hold up to most normal use.

Personally, I stopped using rubber bed mats when I started getting Line-X.

I used TS stall mats in the long ago past on 'bare beds', then made-to-purpose rubber bed mats. I don't miss wrestling those things to remove and clean under 'em.

Line-X is a sprayed-in bedliner but I can't say it's the "same" as the material / application done at the factory.

I first had Line-X installed in my (still owned) 2005 F150 when it was new and chose it for my 2022 when new because it has proven good for me (mine are 'working trucks', hauling everything imaginable that goes with life on rural acreage). Again, YMMV.

I've never had need for a warranty claim, but FWIW the Line-X warranty ('lifetime') is certainly longer than the Ford OE 36-mo B-to-B warranty.

I am being told there is no reason for a rubber mat if there is already a liner. So I have given up the rubber mat option.

The Tractor Supply 4x6 foot stall mats are cheap at $59 but they weigh 94 pounds. I prefer a regular 1/2 inch bed mat that weighs a good deal less and is easier for me to remove and put back inside the bed.

A rubber mat keeps items from sliding around, include dogs if you travel with them in the bed. I have used the same bed mat in the 3 different trucks I have owned over the past 25 years.

Agree with the post above. I bought a blemished rubber mat on eBay for $75.

Stuff stays in place much better than OEM liner.

I cut off the corners as I do not need the mat in the areas in front of or behind the wheel wells. It makes it much easier to slide out and to slide back into place.

All the standard truck beds have a 48" spacing between the wheel wells and are roughly 6.5 feet in length regardless of year or make.
