Spotify Streaming, Subscriptions

My truck is ordered, and now while waiting, I am wondering about streaming music:
Does the headunit have a spotify app built in for streaming, or will I have to use my phone and Android auto?

How does android auto work in general? No issues? I am assuming wireless?

And last but not least, what connected services are there, and what are the costs / what's included? I have heard about a wifi hotspot for $20 or so per month, does that include things like music streaming?

No built in Spotify. For Iphone, the App installs from your phone. Works great as long as your phone is with you

apps run on your phone. Android auto is just a presentation of the phone onto sync. Think of it as an external monitor. Any data usage is via your cell carrier.

I was hoping that there's more like standalone option available, where you don't need your phone except for calls.
It looks like Ford does have that available, just not (yet) on the F150. It's their "connectivity package", but apparently only available on the Expedition and Mach-E:

I'd love to have that on the F-150, with wifi, apps, video and audio streaming, and google maps included as navigation. $150 per year.
Maybe it'll be available sometime in the future?

I just purchased a 2025 F150 and it came with a 1 year trial of the Premium Connectivity package, which should include Amazon Music and Spotify. I've had it less then a week and haven't messed with any of that as I use Android Auto for all my stuff but you should check on that. Did you open a FordPass account yet? If not definitely do that as you will be able to see all the trial stuff you get when you take possession of the truck. Also you want to get those points for the purchase of the truck.

Just FYI the "Premium Connectivity" package showed up on my FordPass and online Owner's Account as a new available add-on option recently (mine is a 2022 Lariat).

In my case it's only offered as a monthly subscription for $10/month, not of interest to me as I don't use any streaming services, YMMV.

here's the Ford page. For the F150 they always talked about amazon music and Alexa. Hotspot is separate via ATT.

The stuff I've seen only mentions Alexa and 'audio streaming' as seen in @Ham 's post above - no more detail than that. Lacking interest I've not investigated further.
