Hi,

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I want to fully charge my battery overnight. The issue I have is that there is no outlet near the truck. Can I connect this charger overnight (10A mode) with an extension cord? The same one I would use for say a leaf blower or any other high powered garden tool.

Could I overnight charge it at 20A with an extension cord?

Hello,

Incase anyone was curious, yes you can use an extension cord but it isn't recommended. Here are the specifications for the gauges. For 10A charging overnight you should only use a max of 50 feet at 16 gauge. Most 50 foot extension cords are 49 feet for this exact reason and at 16 gauge. The label on the extension cord said pretty much the exact same thing. Only problem was my battery got charge to 80% and it showed err on the display. Weird.

Any insight into the ERR / flashing message? I read the user manual but it says that the battery is either bad or the charging time was exceeded.

Kind of silly that it's either a worst case scenario or something that is totally normal when you leave it on the charger overnight. I plugged it in at 630pm and checked at 230am. It was fine around 11pm (still at 75%).

Should I try it again or just be happy with the 80% since it was at 30% when I put it on.

The main reason I am doing this is to see if my vehicle will get any updates at 100% since there are updates pending but not being pushed to the vehicle.
