I don't blame folks for not wanting to inve$t into "taking matters into their own hands" with these trucks.

It's true that they shouldn't have to.

But, unfortunately it's the current way things are if you want to enjoy the truck for all its potential and not be reminded every time you get in it that it's not complete. (which IS something that would drive ME nuts)

The best thing about this forum and a Mongoose is that you feel empowered and no longer so vulnerable to folks that don't seem like they even care about you as a customer.

It was, but most dealers were incapable or unwilling to do it. Also, the campaign that covered it under warranty expired today. Anyone wanting it going forward will have to do it themselves. Ford really dropped the ball on this.
What a PITA! Bringing to another dealer with a friendly service manager on the 10th, fingers crossed.

Dealer claimed that the ipc updated this morning and it takes a few days for everything to register properly, not sure if I buy that but will give it a week. Thanks for the response
I had a similar experience with my dealer. Except they kept my truck 8+ hours and didn’t even try to update it. It sat in the back lot for 8 hours then they called and said they have been trying all day and it’s failed every time. I ended up buying the cable and updating it myself. I made a video showing you how to do it if you want an idea of what all is involved.

They didn’t. It’s not even available for your truck. That’s the problem.

you aren’t I looked at his truck.

his truck is a shit show. His doesn’t even have the ipc update available so the only way to save him is to side load it now. So he’ll have to decide if he wants to fix it or not..

I can fix it but he will need the mongoose and allow me to remote in and get it started.
6 hours of updating is what his truck needs and if he doesn’t he may never have it working
Hey Jesse, I am going to dealer Wednesday for my wiper recall and I told my service rep I am stuck on 2.7.3, but the dealer said I am not due for an update.

Can you please check if that is true? 1FTFW1ED2MFB07208

"You aren't due" :)

Sounds funny when you think about it.
They're clueless yet they think you are.

They'd be so embarrassed if they only knew what they don't

You have several updates available. The issue is the dealers have no requirement to do any updates.

You don’t have blue cruise. Even if you did the 21G01 has expired so there is no longer anything to press a dealer to make them.

Your options are to wait for OTAs. They are getting better. Or update manually yourself. Requires a $600 investment.

That's true too.
They can't get paid.
It'd be so much easier to just be honest and point out that there ARE updates available for your truck, but you must wait for Ford to schedule an OTA delivery, or reimburse us for our time.

It might not be great news, but it's honest and less insulting.

Does anyone know when we might be getting the update for blue cruise that would include the updates like the assisted lane change and such?

Hi Jesse….Have seen you help a lot of folks on this forum with OTA update problems…I have a 2021 F150 built 6/21/21. I haven’t received an update in a while my last one being 2.6.0. Would you mind looking into my vin number and seeing what you think the problem might be ? My vin number is 1FTFW1E8XMFC10783. I appreciate any information that you can provide. Thanks, Ben S…….

You have actually had several OTA> You currently have an APIM waiting activation.. Or maybe installed when you start your truck today

You have actually received several updates and the last was the gateway unification to 2022. The APIM update should be coming your way soon

Interesting that the last couple of gentlemen's trucks were in better OTA condition than they perceived them to be.

That's a really good sign that recent OTA update success is perhaps more widespread than we might believe? Although it's also interesting that folks aren't aware that their truck is being updated successfully. :)

I have seen a lot of vins. There are many that have had great success. I can tell you there are equally as many that haven’t. I think it relates to the battery issues.

They installed different batteries in different trims. Trying to save Pennie’s for some reason rather than just installing the biggest in all trucks.

There also was a batch of batteries that had issues with their ability to hold up to the demands of the OTA and most failed due to that. So had ford had good batteries from the beginning we probably would have seen much better success. Ford still refuses to replace batteries they know are bad
