I changed my oil today @ 1233 miles. Had the truck a month and no serious off road driving. So is it normal for a relatively new oil pan to look like it's a shedding snake? I don't normally do my oil changes so i have no frame of reference. Thanks in advance.

not to worry, that effect results from the casting process.

Agreed. Just something that happens when casting aluminum. Years back I remember seeing the external surfaces of cylinder heads on some Saturns and other GM's looking just like expanded styrofoam used in those cheap coolers you get at the grocery store.
