I am looking for help updating my modules and getting the most current BC update. I don’t think they are doing that OTA and if so mine isn’t doing it and everything is turned on. I tried the dealer but they don’t seem to want to help at all.

Thank you for anyone that can help. I will pay for the help or buy the drinks.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
My dealer looked at mine. It was updating on occasion. I still had a bunch of updates "scheduled".
He said he would be happy to do it for only $3,000.

I am parked in the garage at night within sight of my router, one of three, probably 15 feet away, with a full signal and hot battery. I never get any low battery warnings, which probably indicates I have a good battery.

There is technology I am unable to understand on this downloading. I don't know why Ford will not push this stuff unless they are still spraying Raid on their programming. I am unable to understand why they would set this up in the first place. If it doesn't work now it did not work in their testing and training phase.

Maybe GM has a better system. I have a 2023Yukon Denali XL. I have seen no indication that they are updating in a similar manner. It is in the exact line of sight of the same router, maybe 25 feet away.

The solution that is used by many in this forum is Foreskin. I am unwilling to tie into my BCM without expert help. Maintaining the electronics in my truck is not my job. I was not trained to do this. This should have been disclosed at the time of sale. Again, updating it without training is not my job.

I don't get it and likely never will, since I am neither a clueless Ford tech or a Ford tech with a clue.

In fact, it would be nice if Ford offered an apology and solution that did not cost $3,000.

Yes I agree I don’t want to tap into my truck either without some help by someone that knows that is going on. I will park closer and maybe put a charger on it at night and see if that helps the OTA updates. And $3,000 seems insane to pay to update it.

I'll be in Pittsburg for 3 weeks starting in mid-march. If you can't find anyone by then let me know, I can bring my Mongoose and laptop with me.

One thing to note..... these trucks use the cel connection to recieve OTA's and not WiFi. Some members have reported getting updates while out shopping or driving home from work. When at home, the one thing you can do to help with updates is have a maintainer on the battery.

As far as I know, wifi is only used when you are using FDRS to connect to Ford servers with your laptop and internet.

That makes sense. Ill put it on a charger when at home at night and see if that helps.
