Is anyone tracking - have the stats on actual average time from placing an retail order to getting a VIN #?
That is what the tracking program was for. Just hadn't been many getting VINs till recently and they have to request the info be updated to the chart so people can see it.

Can you check my VIN and see if it is listed? Looks like it includes some 2020 models.

Hey @currybob I've attached a pic of your truck showing with the field service action. I'm almost certain it's literally every truck with power boards. They definitely do extend past the doors and have kick switches under them, so I could see a delay with new parts. It sucks but rest assured, I'm sure these issues will be worth the wait. :D

This information screen is really cool. How would someone view this with their VIN? Or is this an insider thing?

A little off topic here, but not a lot.
In late 2017 and early 2018, I rented Explorers at a couple of locations.
Was kind of cold, but not drastically— maybe mid 20s in the mornings.
Both of these vehicles had the powered rear hatch, and neither one of of them worked early in the mornings. I can only assume it was temperature related as both started working again as the ambient temps came up into the mid 30s during the day.
This was more annoying than a running board that would not deploy as loading the car was much more difficult (luggage, tools etc) going thru the back doors and over the seats. Bothe of these cars were the Titanium trim levels and there was really no excuse for this.
Despite this, they were pretty nice transports, but a bit noisy.

Insider thing i think
I work at a dealership (Sales Consultant for 6 years now) so that screen is for insiders only. I will do my best to help anyone out with anything they need. I've lurked this forum for awhile before making an account but am truly excited for these new 21's.

I've leased a 2018 Lariat 2.7L and a 2019 Lariat 2.7L (both with steps) and I do find the newer ones a bit noiser (2020 models) than my 18-19 was. I'm sure they've beefed up the motors but haven't seen too many issues with them in the colder climate. As long as you keep the tracks clean (power wash them) and get the service techs to lube them up, you should see no problem with them.

Thank you Empire!! (y)

It's very nice to see some insider help here and we sooooo need the help.:ROFLMAO:

I think all I have done is stir the pot but posting everything I can find, steel, or conjure out of my dealer.

With those being field service actions, will they try and fix them there or let the dealerships do the final repair??

Hahahaha, I gotta say I am truly happy with some of the information you've provided. It helps everyone out with these current constraints and such (which you get some other information that I don't get) probably as your guy is in the States and knows what's going on with the factories a little more.

As for the Field Service Actions - I would safely say they would definitely not want to ship these vehicles until those are fixed. It makes more sense as that way dealers can just sell them right away as they hit the lots.

Yeah, I was afraid you were going to say that.

Oh well, at least my dealer did say they would lock in my Private Cash Offer even without the truck being received and it's not looking good for 4 Jan.

I'm sure they will have a fix figured out by now but if parts need to be manufactured and then installed, it could be awhile with all that are sitting out there now.

Thanks again
Bob

Bob when they say "lock in your private cash" does that mean you have to start contract? That is what my dealer said. I'm so tempted to go ahead and do that to get my $2k but it feels weird to negotiate the things like service plans and warranties without the vehicle there.

Haha yes, my bad. Mfg warranty is already included, I mean *extended* warranty/service plan.

Terry, I locked in the total negotiated price of my truck (minus any warranty) also locked in all but 1 Ford incentives. One I have listed on sales receipt is the $1K incentive if I finance a designated amount throug Ford Credit. Warrany - I'm not buying from a dealership - I will buy online same Ford warrany that I want but at a lower price. I have not added any accessoires (yet) to the total negotiated price. Ford hasn't provided the dealerships (mine) with the actual accesory part number. I'll do that once vehicle is in the ship to dealership transportation mode.

This is good info! May I ask about the 3rd party Ford extended warranty, is the process when you take it into the shop seamless? Like with Ford warranty, they know the issue, check its covered, do the work, etc, then pay nothing (or a deductible). If we bought it elsewhere do you pay all out of pocket, then have to get some claim process and paperwork, then get reimbursed?
