Hi guys , I’m ordering a custom build for my 21 F150. I requested the 2.0kw pro power on board (3.5 Ecoboost engine). I also ordered the rear partitioned fold-flat storage . The dealer putting in this build contacted me and said that the pro power on board and the rear storage box are not compatible. I’d rather have the power on board but I’m concerned on where it’s location is. does ANYONE know exactly where the inverter components will be ? Will it be mounted to the floor beneath the rear seats taking up floor space ? Any help is appreciated . I’ve searched everywhere and there seems to be ZERO info on where the inverter is actually located . Thanks

Yes, the 400W inverter (default) has always been under the 40% side (passenger side) rear seat. I'm attaching a picture I took of mine the other day when they were asking about underseat storage.

I don't know where it was posted, but I do remember someone at a test drive event found a non-Powerboost with the 2kW inverter upgrade and took a picture of it under the seat. It definitely took up more room and it is easy to see why the fold flat storage is not compatible. I do not have that picture.

The pic is my 400W inverter (non-movable) and an emergency tool kit and 12V air compressor I keep under the seat.

Thanks for your reply . Yes I am aware of the 400watt inverter current location. I’m hoping the 2k PPOB inverter is similar. I just don’t want it taking up actual floor space if I can’t have the storage box. Hoping some others can shed light on the actual dimensions or placement versus the current 13th gen version . Thanks much !

with that being said . Now I’m curious if the 40% portion of the seat bottom has the storage that used to be under the 60% ( where new inverter is placed)

I ordered 2.4Kw and wondering if I'll regret not having the 7.2Kw. Think this will be an upgradable option afterwards?

From what I understand -without getting the 7.2kw you will not have the 30amp plug in the bed area. So I don't believe you will be able to easily upgrade the system later from the 2.4kw to 7.2kw.

I think maybe @Knickell can answer since he saw it in person...

If I remember correctly, there is nothing else under the “40” part of the seat. Let me know if these pictures help out.

These were on a gas only King Ranch with the 2.0Kw Pro Power On Board.

There are lots of aftermarket under seat storage storage options. Granted, not lockable and I haven’t found any for 2021’s yet but I’m sure they will be available soon. If you just need something to contain some things and keep them from rolling around it’s another option.

Im a cheapskate so I made an open bottom box out of plywood for my 2016, painted it flat black and strapped it to the frame under the seat with some Velcro strips. Holds a tool kit, fire extinguisher, safety vests for work, hats and gloves, etc. I kept the passenger side “40” open so I can flip up that seat and the dog has somewhere to sit on the floor.

Wait, that works??!? Either one of my dogs would immediately jump up onto the 60% bench and sit in the seat
