(RESOLVED & TNX) Help Identify Socket

Good Day All

wondering if someone can tell me what the socket on the far right is for. When I lift the cover I see daylight.

I suspect my truck: MY23, Crew, Lariat, 502A, 7350# GVWR, Trailer Tow Package, Integrated Brake Controller, On-Board Scales, should have included the Trailer Sensor Kit but I can't find it. The reason I'm asking is that sensor is for sale on the forum at a great price but I want to check one way or another if the sensor was removed at the dealership.

OH, the vehicle was purchased in August of 24 but was a dealer loaner with 4100 miles when I bought it.

Yes Post Patrollers, I did do a search of the forum and owners manual and likely with my ineptitude I missed finding out what it is.

There use to be a lock that would go there that was keyed to the vehicle key to prevent theft of your spare tire. I think ford removed them for the 23 and up model years. As for the trailer sensor kit you would have a 7 pin connector and a 12 pin right under it. Yours only has the 7 and 4 pin connector. I dont know enough to tell you if your truck was supposed to have the 12 pin or not.

I bought my trailer sensor kit through eBay since I couldn't find it in my truck that I bought used. Supposed to be replaced now with bar code stickers to do the same function utilizing the camera.

After crawling around looking at trailer plugs it dawned on me it for the spare tire.

The external sensor is Yaw sensor, to sense if the trailer is starting to sway back and forth, then it will apply brakes and crazy computer shit to correct for it.

The Stickers and Camera are for the trailer backup function.

And of course the lock tumbler for the spare tire access.

Here is how a fully equipped 2021 truck was outfitted.
