reseting estimated miles to empty 2023 f150

My son just bought a 2024 Tremor and one feature he has that might not make a lot of difference to most but i like big time. When i reset my Miles to empty when refilling it actually has been pretty accurate however if i go to towing mode with a trailer, it decreases considerably and rightfully so however on the 2024 Tremor when you go back out of tow mode, it recalculates the miles to empty for the new mode you are in. I with that feature was on the 2023. After pulling a trailer i have to drive almost another tank of fuel before it goes back to normal estimation. His changes immediately. Hope this makes sence.

Mine doesn't change immediately, but what happens is the miles to empty either doesn't change any for a while, actually adds miles to the miles to empty. I have a 2022 PB.

'21 does similarly weird things. It'll show a mileage that doesn't change. For example, just filled up and had 650 MTE. Took an Interstate drive of about 100 miles round trip at 28 mpg. Upon return, the MTE was 655.

Does this all the time. It's most accurate when towing.

The 2024 tremor my son has calculates it based upon the mode and not the historical data. If he changes to tow mode and selects his trailer for towning, it will instantly try to calculate based upn those criteria and some historical data. Changing back to normal mode it instantly changes the estimated miles to empty based on that selection.

Mine will stay or as some say begin to add miles which is ok, but i like the 2024 set software. I wonder why any new software update for sync 4 would not do that.

That would make sense. Very good highway mileage means your DTE calculation would be improving as you drive

MTE is based upon your last 500 miles of driving. Drive it like you stole it for 500 miles and then baby it and you will see and increase in MTE as you drive down the road. Do the opposite and it will drop precipitously as it recalculates. It will eventually steady out.

The 2024 tremor calculates it according to the mode you are in instantly based on data for what ever mode you are in and back and forth.
