Remote Start - Just need a fob?

Hi Everyone. First time F150 owner. Picked up a 2021 Tremor. The on-screen menu has options for remote start that makes it seem like the truck has it, but my fob doesn’t have the remote start button.

I’ve tried various combos of lock/unlock I’ve seen on YouTube but can’t find how to actually do a remote start.

Do I just need to go buy a new OEM fob with the remote start button on it? If so, can I program it or do I need to go to the dealership?

Thanks JC. That looks like a pretty good option. I was hoping to not need to go aftermarket since it seems like my truck is already programmed for it, but if I do then I might start with the product you shared.

Thanks JC. That looks like a pretty good option. I was hoping to not need to go aftermarket since it seems like my truck is already programmed for it, but if I do then I might start with the product you shared.
I have had basically the same thing on my 2014 for ~ 6 years I think and it works great and for $150 it is hard to beat.

Thank you for this suggestion. I’m a complete newbie here… how do I do. VIN lookup?

My car has all the menu options for remote start.

That fob doesn’t have the remote start feature. Try the app

So you have remote start thru the FordPass app. To get remote start with the factory fob, either need that aftermarket adapter above, or you can get the fobs with remote start, and if you have both keys, reprogram/add the new ones and open them up and swap the key blades over as you reprogram them. And then you would also need to use Forscan and save the values from the current RTM and get an RTM that has factory remote start on the fob, and then restore the values once you swap the modules around. The RTM (remote transceiver module) also does TPMS, which is one of the two reasons to restore the values in the module. This way is by far not the easiest or simplest, but is the method to keep everything as “factory” as possible. I did it on my 2016 and 2020 when I had those. As well as my 2019 and 2020 SD for work. I want to say it was about $200 or so for both keys and the module. And then I went and re-sold the “non remote start” keys

Thanks guys. I need to think about whether I want to go through the reprogramming sequence described by Dylan or if I just want to buy the aftermarket module.
