I have had the same experience with my 2022 XLT PB. Light braking force will bring regen limits all the way up which will cause the rear end to skid out if you are on a slight curve. Abs will kick in eventually and turn off the regen once it sees differential speed at the wheels but after the delay in the system its too late and you are already sideways. (No issues with locking up the wheels or skidding by just letting off the throttle)
I have done extensive testing with all drive modes.
-Most people say using slippery mode will reduce regen. But my finding is that this is not true unless you are in 4H. Using slippery mode will detune the throttle position map and auto shift you to 4X4. In CT we often do no have enough snow to fully coat the roads and use 4X4 for an extended period of time without fear of over loading the diffs (I do not have 4A because it is an XLT). This is a shame because the truck handles & brakes exceptionally well in 4H.
-You can push the 2H button to put the truck back in 2wd while staying in slippery mode. (This will keep the less sensitive throttle settings but regenerative braking goes back to full strength)
I have asked @Ford Motor Company representatives if there is a solution for people who do not have 4A and all i get is "I'm not sure, talk to your local dealer."
I spoke to my local dealer and they had no resolution and said the truck was behaving as expected. They said if i wanted further investigation they would need a ford service engineer to come out and look (this would require my truck to stay at the dealer and off the road until they came to look at it) which could take weeks or months according to them.
To me it is a simple parameter change, but the dealer said they have no way of making the edit.
-When in slippery mode keep regen off in both 2H and 4H. (I do not care about getting the best gas milage in slippery or unsafe conditions and ford already has this regen parameter limited / turned off in 4H)
Anyhow, best of luck to you. I have not gotten anywhere with @Ford Motor Company on the issue but have a ticket logged in their corporate system regarding the safety issue. If anything serious happens I have a record of trying to get the issue resolved. ( I suggest you do the same)
