Here is the big problem for us… It’s already “released” as the newest trucks off the lot have it enabled. In the eyes of Ford marketing, they have already made good on their promise. Press releases and hype videos are safe.Ok FORD,
if youre releasing Blue Cruise in the 3rd Quarter you better get a move on it.
Time is ticking away.
Let's do it!
Great point. I wasn't aware that it was already available on new ones..Here is the big problem for us… It’s already “released” as the newest trucks off the lot have it enabled. In the eyes of Ford marketing, they have already made good on their promise. Press releases and hype videos are safe.
Ultimately, they don’t need any help selling trucks off the lot right now as they can’t produce nearly enough of them but it’s a big selling point that you can get bluecruise on the new ones they are shipping. Making the feature available via OTA update doesn’t really do much for them even at $600 a pop. Bricking a few trucks via OTA update is going to get them far more negative press than getting out the update quickly so as others have mentioned I agree that the early access program is all about testing out the update system itself. Since the software is in the wild, I wish that I could just stop in to a dealer and have it updated.
I can tell just from using drivers assist that I will love it.I hope they at least give you a 2 week free trial to see if it's worth it for you. I also wish they'd update their maps for the price they are charging or going to charge for both.
LOL, I think I fall the other way. I guess I am too much of a control person. I just don't trust it.I can tell just from using drivers assist that I will love it.
My prob at the moment is we have a lot of straight roadways where the copilot thinks I'm not holding onto the wheel. Real pain in the arse that I have to nudge it every 15 seconds.LOL, I think I fall the other way. I guess I am too much of a control person. I just don't trust it.
And what do you do with your hands? I mean you still have to keep eyes on road so can't be playing on phone. I mean, it's great for those that do a lot of hand movement when they talk or if you need to rub one out on the way to work...
I sit in a lot of traffic on blues cruise approved highways for commutes. So the hands free will be a big deal to me. Right now I get yelled at regularly by the truck to put my hands on the wheel at very low speed even though at least one is there. It seems that you have to exaggerate the wheel movements even more at low speed to keep it from yelling at you.My prob at the moment is we have a lot of straight roadways where the copilot thinks I'm not holding onto the wheel. That's cool, maybe it was included in the package you purchased..Not sure exactly how I got it but Blue Cruise was activated on my Platinum when I picked it up 9/10. No mention of it from the dealership and I didn’t pay anything extra outside of having the Ford Co-Pilot Active 2.0 Prep package.
I used hands free for the first time in a traffic jam on the way home after purchase and it worked flawlessly in stop and go. I’ve used it on many trips since (cruise control set at 80) and have been thoroughly impressed outside of a couple of long sweeping turns where it wandered some within my lane. In my account it shows the subscription good through September 2024…

I could be wrong but I thought I saw somewhere that they added the first year $600 to the price of the truck for Job 2 trucks. Not sure exactly how I got it but Blue Cruise was activated on my Platinum when I picked it up 9/10.
