Called the local dealer to arrange for the wiper motor recall and the wire to the rear differential.

Was suprised to be told that recalls are done at your house. never heard of that. They have what they refer to as the "mobile repair team".

They're stopping by Tuesday afternoon.

Yup. Had 'em both done in my driveway last summer. No problems. They also do oil changes at home. He even told me they change the oil on non-Fords as well. Very handy.

Had that done at my house also! They were on time, took about 15 minutes and very convenient. My recall needed was just the wiper arms at the time. I asked what other mobile services they offer. Technician said per Ford it is recalls and oil changes, however in Arkansas there are laws that prevent them from doing the oil changes with the mobile service. ??‍♂??‍♂

They did 3 recalls on mine in the parking lot at work. Mobile service is a great option, I hope Ford keeps it.
The tech told me that the dealer added Mobile service for the purpose of servicing EV's, As Ford is trying to adopt the Tesla model of service. But there simply aren't enough EV's to service. and the dealer is trying to make sure these guys have some work to do, as there is no slot in the shop for them to move into.

Well, not off to a great start with this. Mobile team called me about an hour before they were suppossed to show up. Said they couldn't do the repair because their allotment of wiper motors has not arrived for the week. Apparently they get 2 per week? They rescheduled for Thursday afternoon hoping the part will show up. We shall see.

Still better than wasting time and driving to the dealer for that. My same two recalls were also done in the driveway.

Yeah I had a couple of recalls done in my driveway back in November. They reached out to me and asked if they could swing by and do it! Flipped the guy a twenty for the time and aggravation that they saved me. Win-win.

Glad so many have had a good experience with this. Mine has been total crap. So today the tech shows up and after a few trips to the van, tells me I have a different motor than his instructions say I have.
So he doesn't have the correct motor nor the information to determine if mine is recalled.

From what I was told, there is a motor with 4 mount bolts and motors with a part number ending in "H" or below need to be replaced.

I have a motor that is mounted with 2 bolts and all part numbers are bad except one.
But since the computer has the wrong set of instructions associated to my truck, he can't determine if my motor needs to be replaced. And even if it does they didn't bring the right part.

The tech needed to go back to the dealership to get it straightened out.

So, no repair today. And I continue driving a truck that may or may not have wipers when needed.

Went to GA last week and while I was there mobile service called. She said they sent the guy out with the wrong motor and wanted to come back with the right one. Obviously the 190 mile drive wasn't going to work. So she asked me to call her when we got back.

She called again this morning and their coming out Wednesday morning, we'll see.

Got a give them credit for trying to get this done.
