So I wanted to see how much area I had behind the seat in my 2021 Lariat Powerboost to potentially add another sub (The 18 Speaker B&O system sounds good but lacks in low end). So I managed to get my hand down the back of the seat and pull up on the notch and unlock the back part of the seat. Not a whole lot of space especially with the underseat storage and jack and existing sub and amp. My issue now is how in the heck do I get the seat to lock back in place? I know i'm being stupid but I cannot for the life of m figure out how to get it to lock. I've slammed it pretty hard back hoping it would trigger the lock, it did not. I can do it myself with the seat down and see how the lock engages but cannot find how its possible to do that when the locking mechanism is between two plates on the back when trying to engage it. Someone has got to have the magic fix for this?

Try moving the bar on the receiving end of the latch downward as far as it will go. Then push the back of the seat firmly towards the rear to latch.

Yea, it's kind of a trial and error 'til you get an idea of how far to raise/lower the seat to get it to lock. Just make sure you don't have the bottom all the way up, let it down a little when you are trying to lock in place.

Worked like a charm. Knew someone would have the magic touch on this. Just needed to move it down a bit more then I was trying. Thanks!

Did you install that Builtright latch bracket? How do you like it?

No, but looking to get it. Was just the first picture I could find of the locking mechanism.

I installed the built right latch. Once you have the seat back down, it’s a 5 minute install. Works great.

Yes, there website fitment chart dosen't list 2021. But in email correspondence with Built Right, I was told it is correct for 2021 F150 and that there website just hasn't been updated yet. 2 are needed for crew cab and 1 kit is needed for extended cab.
Where does the 2nd one go on a crew cab? The passengers rear seat has a factory pull to release on mine.

1 kit is all you will need from 2015 forward for extended or crew. I mis-read built rights selection chart. My extended cab also has a factory release on the passenger side for jack storage.

I have the B&O Unleashed and when I released the rear seat back I found there was almost no usable space behind the seat. Save your money if you have the same setup.

I moved my Builtrite back seat latch from my 2012 to my 2021 with no issues. As others have said you have to find the sweeet spot to get everything to align the first time but after that the latch lines up just fine. Takes a bit more to trigger the latch then the factory one on the passenger side but works great.

I like being able to store things that I'd like to keep in the truck but don't necessarily need all the time (Extension cords for my Pro Power setup for example). I do not have the B&O system so I have some space to use. Especially hanging the extension cords off of the childseat LATCH anchors at the top.

I am sorry for @xXChartmanXx troubles but glad he started the thread. The owners manual is silent on this. I was driving my three week old extended cab today and the rear seat back on the passenger side flopped forward. The factory release pull strap came off too. I can reattach it but I don’t trust it to stay attached to the linkage. It is only about 3” long so it will be hard to cram my hand down there and grab it. It is really a hoakey setup on the drivers side but I guess they have been doing it that way for years. Even though I have the B&O unleashed system I ordered the Builtrite latch release so I can be certain that I can get back there in the future. I may be able to cram something back there. I am leaving the seat unlatched (and no backseat passengers) until the Builtrite arrives. It looks like the hardest part about installing one is to get the seat back unlatched.
