Rear Parking Aid and Camera View

As some of you know I have been trying to add the front parking aid system to the vehicle in this thread as described in this thread: Adding Forward Sensing System - 2021 King Ranch w/601A. I have had issues getting the front sensors to work correctly.

As I finally have a little time to get back to this, I've started doing additional troubleshooting.

This evening, I realized that my display is not correct with the rear parking aid system either. My display looks very similar to the attached picture sourced online...

One difference, the distance indicators do not show up on my screen. Talking about the green bar at the bottom left of the rear bumper in the rightmost overhead view. I have the 360 view just not the bars. I also realized to might that I do not have an audio warning when I get close either. Feeling stupid that I missed this previously.

Not sure if this issue may be part of the issue getting my front parking sensors to work.

I have FORScan at my disposal.

As a side note: The BCM appears to have been replaced previously.


I would greatly appreciate any help possible.

Plug into FORScan. When it asks if you want to load the exiting profile, select no so it does a fresh scan. Post what you have in IPMA lines 706-01-01 through 706-13-01.

Try this and see if the front sensors work:

706-12-01

1xxx xxxx xx--

If that brings the front sensors up, leave the 1 there and then go back to 706-12-01 and change this:

x9BC xxxx x--

Start the truck and check your 360 cams to see what things look like. If everything looks good, then go back to FORScan, go to 706-02-01 and change this:

xx33 xxxx xx--

Once you make those changes, check your 360 cams again. If it makes things worse, change it back to what you have now.

Got back to the front sensors today. Still having issues. I'll work on this at a later date as I believe I still have issues with the sensors.

Here's what I would like to fix now...

After updating software with FDRS a few weekends ago, the rear parking aid no longer chimes when I get close to something. This definitely worked before the updates.

Also, the rear parking aid indicators do not show when getting close to something and never have. The picture I posted above in the first post (not my vehicle) shows how I believe it should look. The picture in this post is what I have (my vehicle).

I believe both of these issues should be correctable with FORScan.

No DTCs present.

Had time this morning to compare the as builts I downloaded from Ford when I purchased the truck to yesterdays pulled by FORScan. No differences found that should affect the Rear Park Aid system.

Any guidance on getting the Rear Parking Aid indictors and annunciator functioning as intended would be greatly appreciated.

As some of my issues with the Rear Park Aid system did not start until I performed the updates using FDRS and I appear to be out of other options I'm going to try the following...

Backup IPMA and APIM configurations.
Restore IPMA and APIM configurations from the day before I did the updates.

Hopefully this will at least turn back on the Rear Park Aid chimes. I can then proceed to working on making the RPA indicators functional.

Hopefully there will be no issues...

Not sure what could be causing the issues, but loading you old ab data can't hurt at this point.

Its nearly impossible to help if you do not post your asbuilt data. The photo of the IPMA data you posted above doesn't have most of the proper items enabled. @BobWadd

I posted the data as requested by rugedraw. I would have gladly posted more if asked for.

I have no idea what to do at this point. My old data for the IPMA as backed up before I did the FDRS updates had 37 blocks. It now has 38 blocks so I cannot restore the old data. Everything other than the Rear Park Aid appears to be functioning fine at this point. I'm still waiting on the OEM sensors for the Front Park Aid to arrive.

Can anyone guide to my next move in getting my RPA to function again?

Post your APIM and IPMA asbuilt files.

Not sure what format to attach the ABs in. Please let me know if I need to do something different.


I also went through all the vehicle setting again and noticed this:

'This Trip' is new as I did not see when I went through the after completing the FDRS updates.
I toggled it and now have this on the IPC when shifting into reverse. It does not go away if I change the toggles. It's fine, just different.

you can change the abt file to a .txt file and should be able to attach. @BobWadd

Also, did you make Park aid switch changes in the IPC? Seems like that would be why you have that popup in the IPC.
