Developed a rather annoying loud rattle recently on my F150. I think it is coming from the back portion of the middle seat. The drivers rear does not move when shaken and feels very solid. However if I pull on the middle headrest, the seat doe not seem as solid and definitely has play. Not sure if that is new, but certainly the rattle is. I have the underseat storage option if that makes a difference. Is this normal? Am I supposed to be able to lift up the rear seat cushion without a switch or latch being pulled? I can post a video later if that is more helpful.

Thanks y'all!

There's 2 latches to the rear seat back.
One on each end.

There really isn't a center seat. It's part of the drivers side rear seat. And yes, the seat back near the middle is the farthest from the latch itself, so it can be tugged a bit more than the two outside seat backs. But there shouldn't be any rattle contact near the middle that I can think of.

The passenger side rear seatback is easier to drop because there's a strap you can pull to drop it down. So perhaps drop that seat back and see if you can see anything that the center seatback might be touching that would sound like a rattle?

Is the lower portion of the rear drivers/middle seat supposed to latch into position? I can freely lift it up.

Ok. So I lowered both seat backs. I noticed the rattle is really bad with the subwoofer going, but also on bumpier roads. I dont think it is coming from the sub itself. I'm wondering if it is coming from ice buildup in the space between the bed and the cab?

Anyone expereince this? It is driving me nuts!

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Just an update in case anyone has the same issue and searches here for solutions. Initially thought it was the back sliding window since there seems to be some complaints on here as well as a TSB that addressed the problem. Turns out it was a few larger ice chunks wedged between the front of the bed and the rear or the cab. It has been single digits here for about 5 days. Anytime the subwoofer was going hard or I went over bumps, it was very noticeable and annoying. Anyhow, used a yardstick to chisel them out and problem is solved. So happy it was not the window. Did not need any more issues or service visits!

Dang. I kinda wanted to see if the dealership could have figured it out. :)
