Got one ordered crew cab short bed 4x4 5.0 3.73 gears. What’s everyone with this setup getting?? Probally gonna add 275/70/18 or 285/70/18 tires to it also
I've had my truck exactly one year from yesterday, my lifetime average is 19.5mpg running mostly 87 octane. Same drivetrain as what you have ordered. I've had a few longer trips with averages around 22mpg if the speeds are kept between 50-65mph. Overall I'm happy with the fuel economy.
Check out Fuelly and limit it to 2021 5.0. https://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/f-150/2021?engineconfig_id=302&bodytype_id=14&submodel_id=
As of now the fleet average is 17.53. That probably includes lifted or big tire trucks but also some 2WD trucks. I'm getting 18.3 self-calculated over 12,775 suburban miles, no lift and stock 20" tires and rims. I have max tow (3.73). It was about 1 mpg better in summer. All gas around here is 10% ethanol.
My tuck, after 5300 miles I am averaging on the computer 17.3. Just went on a trip, mostly highway with a 65mph speed limit, but doing 70-75 mostly, with some town driving, 4 grown men passengers, luggage, a 52 quart cooler, camp chairs, I was getting just under 19 mpg. I know I could get way better, but I do love the sound of that V8 engine. A lot. I also have a 2" level, BFG AT's stock size, on the 20" wheels, and 3.31 rear end. My lifttime is lower also, because I bought the truck to use and have pulled trailers, had it in 4wd numerous times duck hunting. Adding a single axle trailer with a 4 wheeler on it does hurt the mpg.
