South American spec is only available spec?
I'm guessing the odds of a turbo diesel are zero to nill for us.

So,,,,, what's going to be mated to that ZF?

Is it really that bad?

I only ask because my oldest sister has been driving her Hemi 1500 for about 8 years and swears by it.
I have a younger brother who recently traded his Hemi 2500 for a $95K Cummins to avoid an expensive out of warranty repair that was a repeat failure of an in warranty repair a couple of years earlier.

He went from swearing off Ram to sending me pictures of his brand new beast. 🤣🤣🤣

It’ll look a decent bit different by the time it goes through homologation for North America, to say nothing if they tweak the styling for our market outside of that. Quite a few things on the exterior won’t translate to the NA regulatory market just like when the Ranger first came over a few years ago.

I had an 04 Dakota I bought new and drove for 5 years because the Ford dealers were trying to get all the money at the time from a 22 yr old kid for an 8 yr old F150 platform that was on its way out.

Engine and tranny were solid. Front end, not so much. 4.7 V8 out powered by today's base V6s.

In hindsight I realized how much comfort and space and power I gave up to save what amounted to a few dollars per month over a half ton and have gone full Sized ever since.

Now a mid trim half ton with a few options can be 55-60k. There is a good market out there for compacts again but they have to package well equipped ones for probably 50 or less. Otherwise people will make the same calculation I did, which nearly killed that market.

Don't allow so much overlap that nobody sees a good value there anymore.

If I was going mid-size I would likely do a Ranger or "maybe" a Colorado. My brother in law has a 2 year old Ranger Tremor w/ 4 cylinder - he has about 50K miles with no troubles. It's too small for me today, but he swears by it ...

I traded my 24 ranger raptor. (2 kids needed more room) for my 23 xlt.

The ranger raptor are absolutely solid and incredibly fun to drive.

If made in Toledo will this likely then just be a Gladiator platform with different body?

From what I’ve seen over the years most all the international pickups have that same general shape. GM, Ford, Nissan, Isuzu all of them it’s kind of interesting. Shame we can’t get an Isuzu D-Max here. I’ve seen a few imported into Canada and they look great. Nice little diesel in them too.

Looking at it I get strong Isuzu/Mitsubishi vibes.
Which is a con in my book but each to its own.

Ive owned a 04 dakota from 67 miles to the 190k it has on it now(currently trying to sell), needless to say that I'm a fan, but that does not look or seem to be a revival of the dakota. One thing I dont get is why under power it w/ 200hp, that last model yrs had more w/ the v6 options and I can bet this thing is far heavier that the last gen. Ive bought my f150 because our family out grew the club cab dakota.

🧐😟🤔🤫 hmmmmm. Don’t know about this one. 🤓. Looks fairly similar to me. I’ll take a Ranger all day over either one.
