Rabbit hole? Convert rear windows to auto up/down

Playing with the expedition I found that the PDM and DDM control their respective rear windows w/ auto up/down. Anyone have the schematics of a late model expedition power windows (rear)? I'm guessing it just needs a few wires and the appropriate rear switches and driver's door switch control panel and some forscan population of the variables. I've seen it asked countless times but never any attempt.

Our xDMs have the fields for it and I'm guessing they're one of the shared components across the brand. No special feedback for the motors so....
Maybe I'll take the MME's door control panel and rig up a harness of sorts to try it out. Need a reason to fix bigger speaker wires into the doors, might as well make it worthwhile if the test works?

If the hole gets too deep, someone toss a hand down to pull me out :bandit: :ROFLMAO:

I'll get the wiring diagrams tomorrow and everything will be much more clear. Looks like all of the switches including driver's panel is LIN to the PDM/DDM, PDM/DDM talk to each other over MS1. Not sure if PDM/DDM control the rear windows. Up to 21 there was a little module in the rear doors that xDMs talked to via LIN. Nothing like that shows up in the 22+ where the other 3 doors all use the same 'switch'. Just speculating, but no modules show up for the rear doors. Might look like a fool this time tomorrow. ?‍♂

this is something that interest me as well

another thing...are the door handles the same? could you add the proximity handles to the rear doors? i hate having to touch the drivers handle to open the rear door for the kiddos haha

Ive seen this done on VW's

Perhaps if you can also get the Expedition version of the attached section from the F150 Workshop Manual (distinct from Wiring Diagrams section of the Service Information documents), that might be of assistance with your project?

(it has some info on the various modules and communications between same relating to power window operation)

Me was right on muh suspicions -- Lower trims is identical to our F150s, upper trims DDM/PDM control the rear windows -- begs the question why upper trim F150s don't now have this capability given the shared parts. 21 F150 led the way for the 22 Expedition.

Okay so the brains are there, only need to run a couple wires -- I've got the pins to just populate the connectors, fishing through the black stuff is a pain though I may just be able to buy the expeditions rear harness I just dug a few more feet into the hole.

2x 14ga from each door to the xDM in front of it for motor control, 2 control wires from the rear switch to the xDM in front of it, re-use wires from driver control switch routed to PDM, add 2 for RR window switch control. See if passenger window switch fits in rear doors as it will work for rear 2 if fit is confirmed.

PDM/DDM each want 60a fused 10ga feed to BCMC, F150 has 30a 10ga run to BCM, only holds 30a fuses -- possible fuse tap to add more juice? F150 rear windows share 30a fused connection on BCM, perhaps 30a xDM okay?

Will it work? 95% sure at this point. Several unknowns but I will venture forth into this vast sea with the confidence of this legendary captain

Any update on this? I expect to take delivery on a 2025 Lariat late December / early January.
I had a '06 & '11 Jetta with auto rear windows. Drives me nuts my Edge ST and Explorer ST don’t. But the Expedition does...

Played with it some, have to try another window control switch, the DDM didn't want to talk the one I have. Had other stuff come up, I slow roll low priority projects like this. I've already got a harness made up to quickly toss parts in it's just a matter of getting another one.
