I've got a push-button doohickey and associated trim out of a wrecked Tremor. My truck, should it ever arrive, will come with a traditional key slot. Is retrofitting the push-to-start button as simple as removing the key barrel and plugging in the switch, or are there additional modules I need to source?

my opinion only but i really prefer the keyed ignition.

i believe you will need additional modules like the proximity sensor and that, but i do not know for sure

Aren't the old school keys more secure? I see thieves are copying the entry codes off the keyless system by getting close enough the the fob with reading equipment. Like standing by your homes front door, etc.

If they want the truck they will come with a wrecker and gone in less than 30 seconds. Most just want a quick grab of whatever is left in sight.

Keep your real valuables locked up and nothing to worry about.

Waves to you from the extreme other side of preference!! HI!!!

My BIL has a 21 or 22 with keyed ignition and the neighbor has 18-ish, not exactly sure, with keyed ignition. Everytime I ride with either one of them and they turn that key I'm afraid it's gonna break off. The 2013 Explorer Limited really ruined me for push button start . I'm sure if the keyed ignition was on the column with the "wings" to turn it I'd feel much better about it. Come to think about it the old cars with the ignition on the dash (66 Chevelle springs to mind) always looked like they'd break off too.
