The electric company shut the power off in Northern Colorado due to wind we’re supposed to have and the dry weather. This is the first time I’ve used the truck like this. I have the 7.2 kW generator. I just went to the menu and selected Generator Mode. I have 4 extension cords running from the bed into the house. Everything we need is on. Am I doing it right? Never tried but it seemed simple enough.

It can be simple and extension cords, properly sized, is an easy temporary way to go. Many of us have installed a Generac Transfer Switch that gives you 8-10 circuits and then you can plug in the 240 four prong cords to run those circuits. This is even easier but you will need to invest about $1300-$1500 for the switch and pay for installation (unless you can install it yourself).

A number of good threads on this subject if you want to do some hunting. The PB is a truck of marvel. The bonus is that it will only use .20-.25 gal an hour unless you put on a fairly high load.

Thank you, I have looked into that but obviously didn’t do it. This may be what pushes me to. This should be a few hours but could go into days so depending on that I guess I’ll see how this setup goes. So far it is awesome.
