2021 Powerboost Lariat FX4
So today I was vacuuming inside my 2021 Lariat PB cab and out of nowhere the horn starts blaring and won't stop. Tried everything I could think of with the key fob and starting/shutting off the truck. I even put the key in that little slot underneath the cup holder for when the key fob dies and nothing. I disconnected the 12v battery under the hood and it still kept blaring (oh the joys of the hybrid system and it's 3 batteries) and it didn't stop until I looked up the fuse diagram and pulled the horn fuse. When I put the horn fuse back in it starts blaring again. Luckily the truck was in my garage when this happened so I could close the garage door, put on some hearing protection and try to figure it out without my entire neighborhood hating me too much.

I can smell the horn burning now from being on so long and I'm not sure what to troubleshoot here. There are a few posts online about the horn getting stuck on, but I haven't found anyone that mentions a solution. Anyone have any ideas, or is this going to be a dealership trip for me?

I have no idea how to solve the problem, but if you do find the magic cure, please post it. I have a '24 KR PowerBoost in the final stages of delivery and want to be prepared for all the little gremlins that may be lurking inside it.

So just to be clear like every other post blaming a power boost this has nothing to do with the power boost.
The two 12 volt batteries, under the hood and under the rear seat our standard on many trucks that have proximity sensors and other higher trim level trucks. This would be the same for a Platinum with a 5.0.
With that said I'm guessing you leaned into or nudged the horn while vacuuming and somehow it's not disengaging. I am not a guru at pulling the steering wheel apart but that would be my first look.
Your airbag and other things are in the steering wheel also so I would recommend having a professional look at it or be very very cautious when pulling off the steering wheel components.

That'd be weird considering I was in the passenger seat at the time and hadn't touched the steering wheel/driver's side at all yet, but still worth looking into. Thanks

Don't worry, I will yell the solution from the top of a proverbial mountain when I get to the bottom of it!

If you can find the connector from the steering wheel to the car harness, you can unplug that and narrow the problem down to “steering wheel“ or “BCM / relay”.

It's ground triggered within the truck but goes to +12v trigger under the hood. Potential rodent activity in the truck?

Did you ever figure out what the issue was? Experiencing the same thing with my 21 Lariat.

My 2021 non-powerboost did this. I unplugged the horn itself. Took it to the dealer and their conclusion was the hood latch. They replaced it.

Hasn't done it since, so I guess it fixed it. Not sure on the why/how but it's been a couple of years now with no return of the issue.

Just to be clear, my horn went off and was running constant (not beeping/alraming) Just on. No stopping it except for pulling battery or unplugging the horn..

Thanks! Same issue with ours, it randomly came on and wouldn’t stop until we pulled the fuse, by which time the horn had burned up.
