I have found, for my style of driving, that the sooner I can use my adaptive cruise the better. When it brakes, it will go into electric mode faster than when I brake. Also the adaptive cruise accelerates more efficiently than I can. It's quickly becoming second nature for me to use the resume feature instead of the accelerator pedal.
Amazing, a computer is more efficient than I am!

The computer algorithm is absolutely incredible at this! In stop and go freeway traffic it is at least 3 MPG better than me as the regen braking it does kicks my manual ass, and like you said it pairs the accelerating with gear shifting to stay "in the blue" way better than my foot.

That being said, I definitely cannot beat the EPA rating (of 24/24) in this truck like I did in my 2017 EB (18/25). Driving the same way I always have, my best full tank without tow miles has been 20MPG. I only get >24MPG about 1 out of every 5 trips. And a lot of those were with some partial downhill, so the opposite direction was around 16MPG.

I use the "This Trip" to monitor how well I'm doing each trip for fun, and I use Fuelly to track at the pump just in case the dash is wrong (as MANY of you say it is, but I've found it very accurate). Also, my apologies the community using Fuelly to research real world MPG on these trucks because every time I tow I keep dragging down the average! My data is a real low outlier compared to other Powerboost owners!

These are my fillups:
Ford F-150 Powerboost EV Coach 1626294677989

And this is the total of all Powerboosts ave MPG using Fuelly to track, you can see the most common fuel-up is 20-21MPG:

My lifetime average so far at 1652 miles is 25.0 MPG. I’m also in love with the adaptive cruise and Assist features, so nice being on the highway and not needing to do much steering or any gas/braking.

It would be nice if the adaptive cruise had a “resume” button on the console shift handle! It’s hard to hit resume when your steering wheel is turning after a stop ?

Thanks for sharing. After 2000 miles, I'm at 19.8 MPG lifetime. I see others WAY above that! I'm not sure why other than I know there is a lot of variability to MPG. I've started using adaptive way more just because it works really well and here in the Bay Area of CA, the highway traffic can go instantly from 80mph to 20mph about 10 different times on my trip home! I like having the truck keep an extra eye out. :)

So for me, looks like ~20MPG is where I'll be.

Searching online for an answer to my question and found this past thread and another. Asking in both in hopes someone sees this. Just got my 2021 Lariat Powerboost, and wondering if there is any way to have the EV coach show up on one of the other screens other than the dedicated EV Coach screen or be static on the gauges somewhere? Seeing the This Trip display along with the EV coach would be great. Or having and option to keep the EV coach bar just being static at the bottom would be nice too. Such a useful gauge it seems like it deserves more than being just one standalone option.

I love EV Coach screen, and the problem would be 100% solved if they let powerboosts put the "This trip" on the small part of the main sync screen. Ecoboosts have the option of the trip meter card, but powerboosts do not. I think it was an oversight by Ford but I don't believe they will ever unlock it for us non forscan users.

Instead, I have EV coach and This Trip in my MyView list and have to toggle between them with the arrows.

EDIT: I forget I have one of the first batches of '21's and they may have updated this for later '21's and '22's, I don't know...

I have the same setup as you, with This Trip and EV coach part of my view and toggle between the two. It works well enough. I never thought of having the this trip as a card on the main sync screen. That would be perfect. I have options for Trip 1 and Trip 2 there. I have a job 2 2021. Seems this could be easily updated via OTA updates….if they ever figure out how to get those to work predictably in the first place. Glad to hear I’m not just missing a simple option box to have the best of both worlds. Thanks!

Ahhh... I think the Ecoboosts also only had Trip1 and Trip2 there, I could be wrong. But in any case, sounds like they DID update the cards for job2. I don't have ANY trip meter there but that would be so useful! Instead I have the absolutely useless zone lighting, eco behavior, and propower. Only useful ones are nav and audio. I would DEFINITELY use fuel economy and trip meter though!

2018 F150 XLT >2010 XLT… 2021 XLT 302 Powerboost?
The My Trip in my PB doesn’t seem to hold memory of the choices I have checked off. It offen reverts to only showing the main trip 1&2 views and omits the This Trip, Brake Coach, Eco Coach stuff I had checked. I dare say my other annoyance is Normal Mode for driving. I didn’t like it in my 2018 either and notice the difference right away and change it to Eco. Also not liking the slippery as it puts truck in 4x4 mode. Didn’t do that in the 2018. Talking to dealership, I’m not the only one complaining about all these things. More complain about Normal drive mode as very few PowerBoosts have been delivered To this particular dealership.

Wondering if anyone else has seen this…

Tonight on my last two drives the charge word turns white as soon as I touch the brakes. The usual green box that extends as I normally came to a snow stop doesn’t move at all either. It’s almost like the regen brakes aren’t working. The charge light is only green if I’m coasting in electric mode. Seems weird, but maybe there’s a logical explanation.

Are you in 4A or 4H? If so, that will affect regenerative braking. Some of the drive modes prevent it as well.

I was in 4A because of a bit of snow that had just fallen. I am usually in 2H. I didn’t know that could effect the regen braking. I’ll have to go back to 2H tomorrow and see. Thanks!

Are you in Slippery Mode? That dramatically reduces regen braking.

Hi there – send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage. I’ll look into this for you. Thanks!
