I was just impressed with myself for plugging in the OBDLink and pulling the codes without asking how first ?

You genius ?

Did you clear it, to see if it's just a one-timer?

I cleared it and the CEL is extinguished. There’s a temporary and a permanent latch apparently. Same code.

Congrats, everyone. We finally made this thread 100 pages long. Wasn't sure we would get there. Good job! ?

It's a Powerboost legacy thread.

Even a Powerboost Ambassador must suffer the historical warts. ?

I’m not overly happy to be a part of it thank you. ?
I’m having it picked up tomorrow and checked out. Do I want to push for replacement? Have they improved the little plastic parts that malfunction? I’m just not re-reading 100 pages lol

Very true. My enthusiasm for the model doesn’t constitute immunity.

Did you climb under to verify if you actually have a leaker?
Or just a malfunction of the valve solenoid?

If it's a leaker, it just needs the $5 tubes.
If it's the valve, they'd have to replace the assembly since the valve/solenoid isn't available alone, I don't think.

You sure you want them to have the truck before they can tell you parts availability? ?

Perhaps they have. I had the entire exchanger replaced for the second time last December and so far it's been golden. I had purchased a few spare tube replacements just in case that was the problem, but the exchanger had a crack in it, so it had to be replaced. I'd say have them inspect it closely. Haven't checked lately, but the supply chain for the available exchanger part should be much shorter than it used to be.

I misspoke. I called James my service guy this morning. He asked if he could have it picked up tomorrow and that he will call me back with a time. Perhaps he’s checking parts availability along with the delivery service.
The exchanger module is dry with the vehicle off and cool. Coolant levels are norminal.

Based on description, it could be a random code for a random condition that may or may not be an impending issue.

But the truck is still under 3/36 warranty?
May as well have it addressed.

Clearing codes might backfire on you though.

I had ChatGPT 4.0 summarize the mega thread for me.

Common Symptoms:

  • Check Engine Light (CEL): Activation of the CEL, with diagnostic tools revealing code P237C.
  • Coolant Leaks: Visible coolant pooling near the rear passenger side, often due to faulty seals or connectors in the heat exchanger.
  • Engine Overheating: In severe cases, coolant loss can cause the engine to overheat, triggering additional warnings and reduced performance.
Potential Causes:

  • Faulty Bypass Valve: Malfunctions in the bypass valve can disrupt coolant flow, leading to leaks and improper cooling.
  • Defective Connectors or Seals: Issues with plastic connectors or seals between the heat exchanger and coolant lines are common culprits.
  • Software Glitches: Some owners have reported that software updates resolved the issue, suggesting that not all cases are due to hardware failures.
Owner Experiences:

  • Delayed Repairs: Many owners have faced extended wait times for parts, particularly the exhaust heat exchanger assembly, which has been on national backorder in some instances.
  • Temporary Fixes: Some have attempted DIY solutions, such as tightening bolts or bypassing the heat exchanger, but these are not recommended as permanent fixes.
  • Recurring Issues: There are reports of the problem resurfacing even after dealership repairs, indicating that some fixes may be temporary.
Recommendations:

  • Regular Monitoring: Keep an eye on coolant levels and watch for any signs of leaks, especially if the CEL illuminates.
  • Prompt Dealership Consultation: If you experience the CEL with code P237C or notice coolant leaks, contact your Ford dealership promptly to diagnose and address the issue.
  • Warranty Considerations: Be aware of your vehicle's warranty status, as repairs related to this issue may be covered, especially if they occur within the warranty period.
Given the potential for engine damage due to coolant loss, it's crucial to address this issue promptly. Staying informed through forums and direct communication with Ford can help manage and resolve the problem effectively.

 Google is dead to me

That's not a leak code.
In fact, the leak usually isn't accompanied with a code.
The exhaust valve/solenoid is what usually throws the code.

It's this little fella:
