Take a look in the driver's door jam There is a sticker showing the build date of you truck, if it is before July 7th of 2021 you're a Job 1 truck / Job 2's came after July 7th. Just judging by your vin it appears to be a Job 1 out of Dearborn.
No kidding, my build date is July 7 2021! Last of the Job 1's. It was all downhill from there.

Can you elaborate on the issues that were fixed?
for me it’s the navigation showing in miles no matter when I make it kilometres
Same for me here in Toronto. I can make the miles change to kilometres per trip by going into General and change Mileage from L/100k to MPG and then back to L/100km which changes the navigation back to kilometres. Weird huh? Anyway this is only per use basis and you'll need to do this for every trip.

It seems you aren’t alone, 2021’s haven’t been updating. Let me tell you 2023’s are SO BAD that I think Ford is too busy hitting our trucks with the fire extinguisher to even look at 2021 yet. Dude I picked my ‘23 up in February and sync has constantly crashed and disconnected from FordPass since day 1, and it seems several 2023’s did the same. I think once all these fires on the brand new trucks are put out they’ll be pushing updates to older ones. I have to say so far so good since 4.2.1.2 on my 2023, has stayed connected since.

It does not work that way with our vehicles. The updates are sequential up to an extent. There is not one update that will bring your truck up to date. Older updates need to be in place before new ones can install. One of many reasons Ford's OTA process has been very problematic.

So the only solution that I see is to do it manually at home, that is, the way of the notebook and FDRS

Yes, that and you also need the Mongoose OBDII tool in order for the computer to be able to communicate with your truck.

That is it, but you do not have to remove any panels. It plugs into the OBDII port under your steering column which is fully exposed.

The video you most likely watched was for people with trucks that were stuck on OTA update 1.7.1 or SYNC version 20312, Since your truck is past that point, you're at ver. 22177 you will not need to remove any covers in order to install updates on your truck with FDRS.

By reading the first thread of the FDRS thread stickied here, it can be very intimidating to try and tackle this on your own. However, it is a lot easier than it appears to be. It is mostly a time consuming process more than a difficult one. With the help of the people on here and on that thread, you will be guided through the process should you get stuck.
