Power tailgate redundant opening.

I'm still a few weeks away from receiving my truck. Obviously a little late to change anything now.
I have the power tailgate. Is there a backup feature in case the electronic opening function goes out? Something like a regular tailgate handle? Everything I could see online says there is no backup regular tailgate handle to open it if the electronics fail. Is this true?

There is a button on the fob, one on the dash and a button on the tailgate, all three will open or close the tailgate. There is another thread that says his one on the tailgate quit working but the other two still work.

Thanks but I'm more concerned if the tailgate mechanism quits. Is the tailgate stuck closed until repaired...my luck it would quit at the beginning of a trip.

Yes if the actual mechanism quit working it won't open. No different than about a 100+ electronic systems on todays vehicles.

This actually just happened to my moms 2018 f-350 platinum a few weeks ago. I extended the step, removed the dust cover under the step and was able to reach in and manually open the tailgate by pulling the rods. Of course she did tweak her tailgate by accidentally opening it with the key fob early morning and driving away with the tailgate down and a gooseneck trailer attached….
