Does anybody have some platinum deployable running boards they want to seem? I bought a truck, 2021, that didn't have them and I would like to replace them.
To all our Platinum PB owners...

When it comes to the power-deployable running boards, has anyone ever had those removed and replaced them with a fixed style? Is this even possible without compromising anything else?

What is comical is I didn't want them on my first Lariat I purchased. I heard about all the issues. Now after having two trucks with them I miss them. The other day I went out to my truck and almost broke my neck. They are all iced up. Living in a colder climate I would definitely consider deployables.. I am already looking at amp.

Anything is possible - these trucks are giant Lego bricks. You can pretty much change anything about them, with some elbow grease and a bit of trickery.

I like my fixed running boards though.. any car that tries to door dig me, gets the boards. ?
Interesting I never considered that as a benefit to fixed....

I do that with my power boards when in a tight parking spot. I'll kick the switch and deploy them and depending on the style of opposing vehicle the board can take the hit instead of my door.

I've had around 10 trucks with power running boards. Never had a failure. The latest style Ford and GM are using don't drop when they deploy. They just swing out. That makes for a big step compared to Amp Research that drop as they deploy. Because the GM boards don't drop, they can swing back to allow access to wipe off the rear window and access the forward area of the bed. And, because they don't drop, you get better reach into the bed. Power boards are a must have for me. I hate the look of pontoons hanging off a truck.

Thanks for those thoughts and opinions.
