If they did that they did something wrong. The chime routes to the ipc when the acm is not detected at start upFor whatever reason, my 22 F150 does the old door chime ever since I got an audio upgrade. Does anyone know how to get the more modern chime back? Has anyone had this happen?

For the LOC, I'm using an AudioControl LC7i which I'd assume is using the auto on. I have a 4 channel and mono amp in there as well as new door speakers, components in the front, coaxials in the back."In the event of an audio system fault, the IPC sounds all chimes." -Ford people
It would help to know what audio "upgrade" you did. Do you install an amp? What stock system did you have? Line out converter? Using "auto" power on instead of a dedicated 12V trigger from the audio system fuse (more on that below)?
On one of my older trucks, I was using an Audio Control DSP and using the "auto" turn on feature and my chimes were defaulting to the IPC. Once I added a 12V trigger to the accessories fuse, the chimes went back to the speakers. I surmised that the "auto" feature was too slow and the system saw it as a fault, or if the radio was in "off", it wouldn't get a signal until I turned it on, therefore my amp was in sleep mode (no speaker chimes). The factory system powers up as soon as you open the door, so the stereo system and chimes are ready to go before you even get in.
