Hey all

Got my truck fully FDRS updated for the holiday and BlueCruise 1.4 enabled. Now I'm back at work this week and I'm noticing that driving with just the cruise on the truck does odd things at the same spot both ways. The speed limit stays set at 55 Mph and the Cruise is still set at 60. But the truck will slowly slow down to 45 and stay there for a few seconds before slowly speeding back up to 60. Yet cruise was still set at 60. Its acting like I was behind a slow car and was pacing it.

You guys have any thoughts?

Yes. Its called predictive speed assist.

You can turn it off.

What is it predicting? Its a straight piece of road??

Will the truck still auto set the cruise to the speed limit change? I use that all the time. Illinois loves to change the speed limit as often as possible......................

It see or knows the speed is decreasing and rather then it abruptly slowing down now it predicts the change and slows down in preparation of

No.. If you dont want the predictive at all but want the old style you would need forscan.

Thats odd. This is the only time it does it. Speed limit prolly changes at least a dozen times on my way to and from work.

Now, interestingly enough there is a ghost 45mph sign in this same area that the truck always sets to that doesn't now or has ever existed.

What would I have to change with ForScan?

I have the same thing that occurs, in the same places. I have predictive speed assist turned off in the driver assistance features.

I also get a ghost 25 MPH sign that shows up in an area that is 55 MPH,
And there are no signs in that area. Previously, people thought it had to due with bad data from Here.com that was updated in one of the updates.

I mean, Don't get me wrong, there are odd spots all over the place there the speed limit is wrong and the cruise sets to the wrong limit. But those are instant changes. Speed limit updates on the dash and the Cruise auto sets an instant later. Disable cruise and then hit the + set button and I can often recover from those only loosing 1 mph or so. This is much different as nothing is changing, the truck just starts slowing down. And If you cancel cruise and reset it, it will still slow down. Only thing you can do is let it do its thing, Or turn off the cruise and drive with your foot until you are out of that area.

Do yourself a favor and read your owners manual.
It will explain and set you straight on the stuff you have absolutely no clue about.

Your ideology is wrong, and your attitude pretty much sucks. If you would like help, be nice and quit being argumentative, it won’t help you out much.

I know you quoted me, but were you actually talking to me? If so, I'm not sure what you are talking about??

As far as the RTFM remark goes, None of this is listed in all 703 pages of the owners manual I have, or the reference guide or the modifiers guide. I've looked. If you have something that explains this system, I would love to see it, learn it, and file it away with my other documentation.

For the rest of your post, I really have no idea. I'm sorry if something I said came off differently then Intended. Even re-reading, I'm not seeing what you are talking about. I didn't give any thoughts or opinions, I didn't think I had an attitude , same thing with arguing.

But seriously, Please point it out. I cant stop being an A** if I don't know how I'm being one.

Again, Apologies.

I turned off predictive speed assist and it did not happen on the way home last night. Cruise did not auto set either. I turned predictive speed assist back on when I got home figured Id drive a few more days and look at trends.

Left this morning to find the dash had reset the gauges. Odd. Didn't get any updates. Noticed that now when this slow down happens, There is a floating black box that appears on the speedo with a speed in it that floats with the MPH telltail. It matched that ghost MPH in that area.

I took a different route to work this morning after hitting that area and noticed that this slowdown only happens when the speed limit slows and oddly, not every time. I'd say maybe 1/3 of the time that the speed limit lessens does the truck do the predictive slow down. Doesn't seem to be very consistent. Due to the inconsistency, I will prolly go back to the old way as Jessie and Rugedraw suggested.

It also seems that since the updates the are many more ghost speed limits. Was just talking with a coworker and they noticed there used to be construction in most of these areas. Surprised they would show up in a database. Does anyone know of a way to view this database? Would be interesting.

I'll make this change over the weekend.
