Has anyone had issues connecting MX+ to Forscan. I am able to get the Bluetooth paired to my laptop and to the OBDWiz, but am unable to get the vehicle to “connect” to either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am running Windows 10, but from what I read shouldn’t be an issue.

Been a few years since I installed.
I probably followed the OBDLink Windows Quick Start Guide thru Pairing the OBDLink MX+
I don't use OBDWiz.
Verified in Windows 10 Device Manager my Bluetooth and Com Ports.
Looked at Forscan > Settings > Connection.

Maybe I need to try updating the drivers for the Com Ports?

When you have the MX+ connected to the OBD port and try to connect in FORScan, what does the connection log show? A screenshot is best here.

I know. Apologizes on no visuals. I’m out of town on business currently and am not near my truck.

If I recall correctly, it runs through the connection types like Checking Bluetooth, Checking WiFi, etc. seemingly finds no connection and says no adapter found. please check connection and try again.

If that's definitely the case, make sure that when plugged in, the power, OBD and host LEDs are lit. If other Bluetooth devices connect to your laptop with no trouble, then it sounds like you need updated firmware in the MX+, or it could be faulty. Try downloading latest firmware from the OBDLink MX+ support page.

The power and link LEDs are all I can get lit when trying to connect to Forscan via PC. I was able to connect via OBDLink app (OBD and Host LEDs lit) on my phone and update the firmware. Should rule out faulty MX+, but who knows. I plan to fiddle with it more when I am home from travel.

Guess I can't remember if I've changed Forscan "Connection Type", when switching between the OBDLink EX via USB for making changes with Forscan.
And the OBDLink MX+ for monitoring. Usually use MX+ with my phone.

I open Forscan & it seems to work with either adapter without changing anything.

Just looked at it's drop down that I leave on COM.

Windows 10 installed driver for my Bluetooth MX+ says it's 6/21/2006

If I use the OBDLink EX via USB, Windows 10 adds a COM port for it when it's plugged in.
COM6 at the moment.

If your phone connects to your mx+ then your mx+ is fine.

On your windows icons (bottom right side on the start taskbar you may have to expand them to see them all) do you see the bluetooth icon? If no then your bluetooth adapter on your computer may be disabled.

To re-enable the bluetooth adapter go into device manager, expand bluetooth, right click the adapter, then click enable.

Also in forscan settings / connection select bluetooth as your connection type and select obdlink mx+ as your bluetooth adapter. I have never had the auto connection type work for me.

Captain Obvious suggestion: Make sure your phone (or other device) is not (still) connecting/connected to the MX+ adapter when you're trying to connect your laptop (FORScan) to it. The adapter can't connect to two different things at the same time.

For sure. I’ve just turned Bluetooth on my phone off when trying to connect to Forscan.
