My CC is set to Normal. Occasionally, when a vehicle pulls in front of me and it is kind'a close to me, the truck will brake suddenly as if it was Adaptive Cruise control, to keep the set distance. It then immediately returns to normal and accelerate to go back to the set speed that was lost during its crazy misbehave.
Anyone else experienced this?

It sounds like pre-collision assist or autonomous emergency braking but that the situation is rectified by the lead car quickly enough that the warning doesn't show on the cluster. Or, because adaptive cruise does that without PCA or AEB and gives no warning, that it may be a part of adaptive cruise that can't be turned off when set to normal cruise.

One thing to try is to adjust the sensitivity setting for PCA to lowest and see if that makes a difference on normal cruise in that scenario.
