Noise on cold start Ecoboost

So, remote started my truck this evening.. Heard a noise outside and this is what I found.. I think it was coming from the middle of the truck but it went away once it was warmed up.. Haven't heard it before today..

Was this issue resolved? I have the same problem on a brand new 2021 F-150 Lariat

Was this issue resolved? I have the same problem on a brand new 2021 F-150 Lariat
I don't know if they ever fixed it or not.. Ended up doing a buy back and found a replacement... I waited for months for Ford to say to replace the passenger side turbo.. Of course it didn't fix it.. But it put the truck over the lemon law time period.. Once that process started, my dealer turned in to an ass.. They no longer cared about my situation..

Good luck, document everything..

I have brought it to the attention of my dealer but he has no idea what is it and he has stopped replying to me. I received my truck exactly a week ago and the issue started a couple days after I received it. My truck currently has less than 900km and about 650km was used by the dealer to deliver my truck. The dealer told me not to worry since it's under warranty but I didn't buy a new truck just to use the warranty right away. The delivery alone costed me approximately $1650 and it will cost me $1300 to ship it back to a Ford dealership or to an authorized mechanic. I inquired about the buy back program but he avoided to answer my question.

Oh wow, it sounds like you are certainly in a specific situation regarding the dealer being so far away.. Do you have any other dealers near by? It certainly doesn't have to be the dealer you purchased it from that is doing the work, but they may help you out a little more with a courtesy vehicle...

If you are not getting the attention you feel you deserve, call the Ford Customer Support number.. 1 (800) 392-3673... Tell them you would like to create a case.. If they don't want to help, hang up and call again.. I certainly got a nasty girl the first time I called and she pretty much told me that it's not worth her time..

They kinda want to help you, but don't want to over help you because it costs them money.. They just kind of handle things for you a little bit..

I'm sorry your new truck is having these issues.. I am always listening for that noise when I start my truck on cold days now...

I certainly think it was a phaser issue myself.. That's probably what he's thinking as well.. It can probably be mitigated with different oil, but not solved unfortunately...

They are selling junk now. Just got a 2022 F150 3.5 L it has rough idle and vibration when diriving. Junk. For $60K. I am very unhappy. Looking at other options with dealer as of now. People need to know before buying these trucks.
