NO FordPass app for Galaxy Watch?

After my girlfriend demonstrated how her Apple blah blah blah watch can start, lock, and unlock her Bronco, I was impressed and interested in getting the same feature.

So I went out and bought the new Samsung Galaxy 6 watch but was disappointed that there was no app available for my Android phone and wondered why Ford was not supporting android watches.

I have downloaded Alexa app on my watch which I already set up at home to start my truck which work but kinda of a hassle but kinda wish I had the FordPass app would be even more convenient.

WTF? Ford quit hating on us androids.

Any body run into this same first world problem

Indeed @Vick! , 'tis a 1st world problem for us Samsung Watch folks. I can one up you though, nothing to do with our trucks, but Samsung has/is promising Blood Pressure for quite some time but alas, still not in the US unless you hack your OS.
As far as the truck, you can use IFTT but I find it to be a hassle. Alexa on watch is easier.
Note, I use several different IOT Apps at present. Some with a watch companion App, others without. ONE UI improvements are slowly bringing more Android Apps to the watch but then the issue becomes processing power and storage issues.
Finally, I am still waiting for several Apps to show up on AA i.e. my radar detector.
In conclusion, yes, lots of first word problems

Huh, I didn’t even realize I could do this from my watch now. TIL, thanks! Looks like it’s in closed beta for Wear OS now.

Yes, I was able to get it to work on my Galaxy watch ultra. I did like it but the one thing that I didn't like is that (FordPass APP) it requires you to have a lock screen enabled. That then made it so I could not see any notifications without unlocking the watch which was very inconvenient. That is basically like unlocking my phone but I least I can do that with facial recognition. So I didn't see the purpose and uninstalled so I didn't have to have the lock screen on my watch.

I am just not seeing it in the app store for the Watch. I have the app on my phone, just not sure how to access it from my watch. But if it is not very useful, then there might not be much need to research it more.

search for Fordpass in Play Store.... Then there should be a drop down menu that says "Available on more devices" click down arrow and then you can select your watch!

You should be able to set it so the lock screen is only enabled when the watch is not on your wrist. So you only need to unlock when you put it on.

It just noticed it for my Galaxy Watch6 Classic today, 12/3/24. Installed it and it worked.

I didn't have the time to mess with it around that post but later. Got that setup but I still don't think I will use it much.. we will see... but I can tell someone to watch this and start my truck from my watch ?

I just about always remote start my truck. I am paranoid that approach lighting, unlocking, and PRB deploying I will drain the low voltage battery just enough that the truck won't start. Now I will do it with my watch. BTW, Alexa will also do it for me, "Hey Alexa, tell Fordpass to start my truck." (Only woman who listens to me.)

Been rocking a Galaxy Watch 3 (Tizen) for a few years. No compelling reason to upgrade. It's been great. I don't sleep with it on, so it gets charged every night.

Recently accepted that support for Tizen apps and such had started to wane, and future support will be nil. Wear OS it is. I also wanted an LTE version, as my Watch 3 was BT only.

Started looking at the Watch Ultra and the Watch 7. Found out Wear OS 5 jacks with all previous watch faces, so I looked @ the Watch 6 Classic. It has the physical rotating bezel like my Watch 3, so that was a plus.

I was seeing the Watch 6 Classic new for around $320 without trading anything in (I'm keeping my Watch 3).

Eventually settled on rolling the dice with an Amazon - Refurbished Watch 6 Classic LTE 47mm for half the price. I hate the rubber watch bands that come with these, so an Ultimal band with the USA flag on it was a match for the one on my Watch 3. Since the wireless charging station I've been using for my Watch 3 has worked great for the last year or so, I picked up another identical one for the office. While not Samsung branded, it's specifically for Samsung watches, wireless buds, and phones - the fast charge actually works correctly!

Got it the other day. It looks brand new, and the battery is performing great.

It's all set up, including adding it to my mobile plan. It shares my cell phone number, and I can answer on either device, even if I only have one of them with me. I like that instead of having two different cell numbers (one for the watch, one for the phone), and it's a huge improvement over needing to have my phone with me everywhere in case someone calls.

I suspect Samsung will - again - return with a physical rotating bezel with the Watch 8 (every other generation). I will wait to see if there's a compelling reason to replace the Watch 6 Classic then.

Anyways, after pairing it, updating the UI to One UI 6 (but still Wear OS 4), adding all my apps and a couple of watch faces, adding it to my mobile plan ($10/mo), and adding my selected credit and debit cards back to the Samsung Wallet (phone and watch), I added the FordPass app for the watch. Pretty cool - I can switch between the F150 and the Dark Horse, and perform the basic start/lock/unlock, check range, check location, etc., on either of them.
