Decided to go to a more custom tune for my truck and on my way back up from south Florida dropped by a performance shop that has the SCT setup.
They had them in stock and said we have room and can install one and download the tune right now. I was like sure let’s do it.
They just did the tune and didn’t have time to dyno the truck but in an hour I was headed north.
‘Things I like about the tuner is it having the ability to tune the 21+ trucks now, it’s own connection to the ECU and overall ease of use.
‘Things I don’t like are it’s a handheld and really given the ability to monitor functions and act like gauges it should be mountable and look better.

If you are adding an intake and exhaust or going E85 or similar I would say it would be a good investment to get custom tuning done. If you’re like me and have the standard supercharger kit that has its own program wait until you’ve made more modifications before leaving the tune that comes with the kit. It’s not worth the money until you’ve moved on to more modifications.

So far I actually feel down on power compared to the whipple tune, drivability is still great and fuel mileage is still the same I just feel like I have less power midrange but it’s hard to tell without some numbers. I really feel like I should have waited and got it dynoed to compare the tunes. I ordered a dragy so I can do some testing and I want to data log the tune so I can send back and see if changes can be made. Luckily it allows reverting back to the whipple tune and I can data log that tune as well but I didn’t spend money to not have gains.

The guys at the shop are very good and know their stuff so going to hopefully get some gains with some updates Just a little disappointing at the moment as I was expecting some noticeable improvement right off the bat with the amount of money invested.

I stand corrected it looks like you can add a windshield mount but the shape of the programmer makes it look weird.
