You'll find mixed reviews on any drivetrain. Imo, get a PB and the Ford factory extended warranty and be worry free.

Get the PB with the 7.2kw
If you do get the PB make sure it has that 7.2kw if for no other reason than resale value. With that said you will find many uses for that generator power if you have it. Good luck with your decision and my 2022 has been a trouble free dream of a ride.

Local driving is where the MPG shines on a PB. It’s almost a no-brainer for me. Just make sure you either:

- Drive at least 10 miles every other day
- Immediately upgrade the 12V EGM battery and reset the Battery Management System.

I had all sorts of SMALL issues with my PB because I work from home. Battery was depleting and causing deep sleep issues all the time. Now I drive more, keep it charged, and run into none of those issues.

Otherwise, sometimes going from drive to reverse causes the biggest lurch and surge of power imaginable. It’s discussed here pretty frequently.

Be advised, depending on the trim level, you could wait 6 to 9 months to get your truck. When you go to the dealer, ask the person if they have a retail allocation for the trim and features you want. Those on the lot may have what you want. Some of us on this site ordered back in September, October and November and still do not have a build date. Stand by.

It is a Swiss army knife, arguably of all the half ton trucks out there today can do the most, easily so with the generator, however it does many other things well too, it's fast when you want and super economic when you want, idling with the HVAC system running is a super huge feature, towing you will suffer in PG a little bit more than a dedicated tow rig such as a 3/4 ton, however you will gain that MPG back daily driving throughout the rest of the year compared to that truck. Back to the generator, if you think differently than your past trucks you can do so much, basically power your house, camper, work site, power tools, tailgating, AC's, heaters, small welders, electric coolers on road trips. It's only limited by your imagination and the 7200 w load. Good luck, I love mine.
