New key programming with forscan

Hey Guys,
I managed to lose on of my keys helping a buddy do some landscaping a few weeks ago.
Luckily had the 2nd key that came with the truck. Fast forward to this weekend, I ordered a generic 5 button key off amazon. I believe I have watched every video on YouTube lol. Still can't manage to program the key. Anybody have any advice they can offer? I'm assuming it would be easy If I still had the two original keys, but unfortunately I don't.

Only way is with two keys. The only other way when you have one key is FDRS and dealer.

Lock smithc may be able to or maybe a tool on amazon.. I dont knwo about htat the only for sure way I know is dealer and FDRS. Even FDRS with a non dealer login cant program a key

PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE
CONTROL - VEHICLES WITH:
PUSH BUTTON START


General Information
You must have two previously
programmed remote controls inside your
vehicle and the new unprogrammed
remote controls readily accessible. Contact
an authorized dealer to have the spare
remote control programmed if two
previously programmed remotes are not
available. Make sure that your vehicle is
off before beginning this procedure. Make
sure that you close all the doors before
beginning and that they remain closed
throughout the procedure. Perform all
steps within 30 seconds of starting the
sequence. Stop and wait for at least one
minute before starting again if you perform
any steps out of sequence.
Read and understand the entire procedure
before you begin.
Note: You can program a maximum of four
remote controls to your vehicle.
Note: If your programmed remote controls
are lost or stolen and you do not have an
extra coded remote, you need to have your
vehicle towed to an authorized dealer. Store
an extra programmed remote away from
your vehicle in a safe place to help prevent
any inconvenience. Contact an authorized
dealer to purchase additional spare or
replacement remotes.

Once you are able to get that second key working you should do what I did. As soon as I bought the truck I went here:

2022 Ford F-150 F150 Smart Keyless Entry Remote 164-R8166 5929503 (carandtruckremotes.com)

I got a third key and with 2 keys you can program that third one easily yourself. I did not have the manual key cut as I just wanted a back up electronic key on the cheap. It works great.

I even got three different color rubber protector covers and they are great too. Good luck but I think the dealer may be your best option now if a key is all you need.

For my 2021 F150, I just programmed a third key, but it took multiple tries (which made me nervous). A couple tries gave the error 'No Key Detected' for the blank. I tried different orientations of the keys in the slot (not sure that makes a difference, but worth a try). The final one that worked had the new third key wide side down with buttons facing forward. I also was a little quicker about switching - the manual says do it within 10 sec. Alls well that ends well......
P.S. I bought my spare key at the dealer and it was way more expensive ($230) than the on-line listing above ($80).

Just came from a locksmith to try and have a second fob programmed. Came back with a message to contact ford for a code. Will probably have to buy a license to do it. Ford wants $120 to program but $200 for the fob another $61 if you want a key and won't do any that's not purchased from them.
