I've gone back and forth for nearly two weeks with several dealers getting to their best price for the "Build and Price" spec'd truck I'll likely order soon. They've all come down to about $43K-ish, the best being $42,950. I was clear when asking for their quote to apply the generic discounts (veteran, student, first responder, loyalty, etc.). but not to include Ford financing discount (several applied it without informing me). Granger's Order Summary bottomline is attached showing the MSPR ($47,780, and Invoice ($45,334).
(I can't help but think the $42,950 quote includes the $1,000 Ford financing discount, even though I told them not to include it.)

XL 4x4 Supercab, 3.0 Diesel, 101A, 3.55 Rear, Tow Tech Pkg, Co-Pilot 360, etc.

All this has been done through emails, and I plan on going in to go face to face.

MY QUESTION: Should I and if so how; try for more discounts by binging up "floor plan assistance" and "advertising association money" (and, is there Dealer Holdback on factory orders?)

ps, I know other discount may apply at delivery...

Although it's certainly possible you're not likely to get a lower price than what Granger has quoted.

Ford rebates, incentives, association discounts, etc can bring down the price further but most depend on what is in effect at time of actual purchase, not when order is placed.

Here is a link to what is currently available but it is not actually inclusive. You should ask Ford, Ford Credit, and a Ford dealer what is available as there are typically national and regional offers available as well.

I'm curious to understand the approach of asking to include the rebates of vet, student, and first responder... Do you qualify for all 3 of these?

Any reason you're not interested in the financing rebate? In my case the only rebate that I qualified for was the $1900 financing one. Even though I didn't need or want financing, I took it to get the rebate. Financed $10k, and will pay it off as soon as my Ford Motor Credit account is active.

As someone mentioned, Granger in Iowa will very likely have the lowest price of most any dealer. Unless Granger is close enough to make it practical, you will have to visit several local dealers to find one that will come close to Granger's pricing (which will likely still be $1000+ more than Granger). In my case (living in MI) I would of had ~$450 in expenses to pick up a truck in IA, so bought local. There is something to be said for establishing a good relationship with a local dealer that has earned your business by being honest, fair, and trustworthy.

Different dealers employ different business models. Find one that is a good match to what's important to you. $1000 under invoice is a fantastic deal (IMO); dealer still makes money, and there are plenty of other ways that can make money (financing, parts, accessories, service, ESP's).

Be candid and direct with dealers when explaining your ask (avoid arrogant/rude!); a smile and professionalism go a long way too!

Good luck, and hope you find the "right" dealer!

I think you should change the way you're going about this. If it were me, I would ignore all rebates and incentives when working with the dealer, those aren't negotiable, you either qualify for them or you don't. The dealer doesn't get to pick which ones you get on the deal, and those can be calculated after you've agreed on a price with the dealer. Starting at the beginning with those muddies the price negotiation.

Work from the invoice price. You already know the dealer net/net price from Granger to be $43,952. Dealers aren't (rarely) going to go below that number without incentives. Decide what you think is a fair price between invoice and that number and negotiate that. Once done, then just add in the incentives you qualify for.

I had a 1500 pco that would have exp. on Jan 4th and 3000 Ford incentives if ordered before Jan 4th, I ordered on Dec 28th and they locked it in. If the incentives are better before I get my truck I can use them. I have been trying to get a bigger pco. invoice was 52,345 I'm paying 46,845 and they are throwing in line-x

What did you do to trigger the PCO?
