I have been working with Jesse on installing a new ipma. It went well but I'm still getting failed lane keeping calibration. Stops at 81%. Jesse suggested that ether the camera or the cable is bad. Really can't be anything else.
I took it in to the dealer. They have it 5 days now and can't find the issue. Same calibration issues. I talked to the tech and suggested that he look into the service bulliten about failed camera cable and replacement. only now is he going to try a new cable then if that doesn't fix it a new camera. The bulletin says if these fixes fail then to replace the ipma with a vin specific ipma. That will be problematic as the current IPMA is not the original. It's a custom ipma programed by Jesse and we both know it's good. If they replace it they have to send in the replacement to ford in exchange with the original ipma that was in the truck when new. Mechanic says he has to return any parts he replaces. They are cool and don't care that I have a different ipma installed now. They have to follow the service bulletin procedures.
I have the original ipma but it was damaged by a water heater explosion and sustained visible water damage.
Long story for what you need. I'm covering my bases incase I have to take over the job. It's been 5 days and the dealer didn't think of the camera or the cable might be the issue until I said something. I have lost a tiny bit of faith in them .
My question is if I have to replace the cable myself, I have read the bulletin and it describes the procedure but I can't tell if the camera cable is one continuous cable or multiple cables going down to the ipma. Then what c242 connector is used on the ipma.
That part is confusing . . I have allData but it's hard to find the info. Is there another source of information out there?
