Hey gents, I am going to get tires this weekend and I’m conflicted between these two.
295/70R18 116S which weigh 52 pounds but there are SL rated or
LT295/70R18 E 129/126R which weigh 63.60.
I currently have 35×12.50R18LT F rated and weigh68.43. These tires are killing me on my mpg.

The SL tires will give you the best fuel economy, but you will lose some puncture resistance vs the LT E rated tires. I guess it comes down to which is the higher priority between those two things. For me, if there was a 295/60R20 SL tire in a model that I liked, I would have gone that route.

Technically speaking, if the load rating meets or exceeds the load rating of the factory tires, you should be fine. I cannot speak to how they would handle though. I don't tow anything heavier than a 3,000lb boat, so I will defer to the others on this.

Technically the SL tires can handle the trailer, but the LT tires will give much better stability at a higher air pressure. The stiffer ride from the LT tire is a small price to pay for having a much better driving experience when the trailer is in tow.

Yeah I went with NITTO RECON GRAPPLER A/T LT295 /70 R18 129R E1 BSW. They weigh 64 but they are way better than the F rated 35’s I had. No noise, smoother ride. I have the psi at 60 for now. Then when I tow my rv I’ll maybe up the psi to 70

Unless you use a 5th wheel trailer very little weight is added to the rear tires. The more aggressive the tread the more energy is lost with tire squirm. Going to E rated tires is a needless expense and most require a higher PSI and so will make for a rougher ride.

With the Nitto Recon Grappler for example the LT275/55R20 E has a load rating of 3085 lbs at 80 PSI, whereas the same tire in 275/60R20 XL has a load rating of 2756 lbs at 50 PSI. With my last truck that had tires that needed to be at 80 PSI the only way to get them to that pressure was to buy a portable Viair compressor to use. The gas station air pumps could not being to provide 80 PSI for the tires.

Pretty awesome tire. You'll like them IMO. When I tow, I run 55/70. Very stable, and still a decent ride.

I thought of a smaller tire. My wife didn’t want to small of a tire because of the lift. She wanted a tire kinda the same size as the 35’s. Like I said I’m new to all this tire loads. I always just rowed with what was on the truck and honestly. I tow my rv maybe 6 or 7 times a year. Lucky for me I have a 30 day guarantee where I can switch if o do t like them. Do you think the Nitto Grapplers 295/60/R18 116S would be okay. They are SL rated and weigh about 52 pounds

Thanks man. So you have 55 in the front and 70 in the rear when you tow
