My (simple) Dashcam and V1 mounts

Equipments: Valentine V1G2 and Garmin dashcam 47.

V1 attached to top of dash via 2-sided 3M tape.

Garmin 47 attached to center speaker grill on right side (does not block speaker) via Velcro so that I can take it on/off as needed to access the SD memory card (located at bottom of device).

The idea is to keep things from hanging off windshield (thus obstructing view) and without hacking the rearview mirror for power. I just want to keep it simple…I am not into modding my car.

I'd consider moving the V1 for a couple of reasons....besides the fact that it will absolutely bake with the sun beating down on it, the rear antenna will be blocked by you, the back seat, etc....

Dongar Tech makes a plug and play harness that gives you a USB outlet behind the mirror. Add a USB to RJ 11 cord and you are in business.

It is designed to be baked in the sun. I have V1G1 and now G2. Never had issue with sun killing it. I live in TX. NEVER use windshield cover.

Surprisingly rear detection still works. I am sure not as good but it tells me when I pass a signal.
