A little project I've been working on.
Step 1 was to split the radio in to a main body and a front control panel. Wasn't to bad I just used fpc to 10 pin header connectors and a ribbon cable. Printed enclosures for both sides.
Step 2 remove console and run power, ribbon cable and a speaker wire under the console.
Step 3 Mpount the radio in the space under the rear seat and the head unit and speaker to the front console.

I have the same exact radio except I just mounted the whole thing in that spot. I found out you could remote the face afterward, but it's more trouble than I'm interested in dealing with after already fishing all the wiring. Yours is definitely more out of the way though, mine blocks a good portion of the cubby now.

Nagoya NMO-72 antenna, Midland MXT-A24 NMO cable and a Dasen Ditch light bracket. Had to poen the slot ont he bracket slightly to fit the NMO mount, but very easy just clamp in vise and use a 3/8" drill to shave off about a 1/16 inch.
