Has anybody on here mixed and matched skid plates? What I mean is having some that are OEM and others that are aftermarket.

I'm considering purchasing the Raptor skid plate for my transmission and possibly an aftermarket skid plate for the engine. If anybody has done that, any pointers/advice you have is greatly appreciated.

I have a 2023 STX, 5.0L.

I have not done that. I purchased the full set of aluminum skids from Talon's Garage and they all fit fine. Easy bolt on. You can get the entire kit or buy them one skid at a time as the budget allows. I'm sure RCI is the same.

I just talked with a representative at Mishimoto about the Borne Off-Road engine skid plate https://www.mishimoto.com/borne-off-road-engine-skid-plate-ford-raptor-2017.html# He said it wouldn't interfere with the OEM Raptor transmission skid plate (HL3Z7222E).

Now, I have to decide if aftermarket is worth it, or just to get the OEM engine skid plate. I do plan to at least go out on the beach and maybe run some Forest Service roads. But, I don't plan on doing any rock crawling like in my old Wrangler. ?
